Reason enough to at least use it intermittently.Exactly. I use it all the time, just to keep the mechanism from seizing up. Come winter and given some of the places I need to park on occasion, it becomes a much needed part of the car.I've never heard of a parking pawl in the tranny fail in my whole life.Anyone else?there is a recall/bulletin in GMC Canyons/Colorados IIRC for the pawl failure. Have had to get parts for 3 already.Ok...I meant for a car that's not garbage and under recall.... you didnt specify, and you asked I answerednow you have heard of one

The Highlander recently had some money dumped into it. - New summer tires- New lower control arms and ball joints- Fresh synthetic diff fluid- Front brake service- An alignmentIt's driving like a new car. So I figured I'd give it a wash.
It's the natural habitat of the Common Highlander

How complicated and expensive just for regular brake service https://www.autoserviceprofessional.com/article/100593/theres-no-stopping-the-electric-parking-brake we have had to do a few so far, parts are about the same as doing other brake work - cables pads calipers etc.

Did the front brakes on the GS-350 tonight. Luckily i had bolts that fit the rotor perfectly so no banging away required to remove them. Easiest brake job I've ever done. This thing is built like a tank. Nice big beefy parts to work with and straight forward design.

I put thread locker on the new ones and torqued them to 60ft-lbs. I doubt many service places even replace them.
