I prefer it to the modern style TPMS because theres no sensors to replace,

You mean apart from the sensor in the tire/wheel?   ;D

Which I've had to replace...
Really! That was the beauty of the system in the Buick...It used the ABS speed sensor to calculate the rolling diameter of the wheel based on it's speed relative to the others, there was no sensor in the tire/wheel.

Oh..I thought you meant on newer cars!  They're mounted in the rims these days.....one at each corner...which is about as modern as you get.

On my BMW at least, the sensor is inboard and not attached to the wheel. It's actually kind of hand in that it will detect low pressure on my knock-off winter wheels / tires. And it did in fact warn me one time and it turned out to be a puncture in my winter tires.
I love it when a plan comes together.

nice! Time for our RAD rides to tango on some back roads...I need to test my Firestones.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Got the Alfa out of storage. She is just a tune up, detail, and a tire swap away from full-on summer mode. It is a good day.

I thought you had a tune up done last year when you had all that work performed??

By tune up I mean spring suspension inspection, oil change, air filter clean, fuel system treatment, other fluid top up and checks...nothing mechanical

Sure thing, once I change the oil, I'll be good to go.

I thought one is supposed to do the oil change before putting a car/moto in winter storage ?

Yes that is how i usually do it. Get the dirty oil out before storage and then ready to go in spring.

The oil was changed in late July. It had like 1000kms and 3ish months on it. It was fine for over winter.

Man those rims look amazing. Your car looks amazing.

 :iagree:

Great colour.
:iagree:

Nice car, great wheels, great colour.
Thanks all ! They're standard on the GT trim level 18" (40-series sidewall) and you can get a 17" version that looks the same on the GT-Line on lower variants. And the plus side ? It still rides well, no crashing over bumps or speed tables ! Even the torsion beam suspension isn't too unsettled by midcorner bumps.

I really hope the French makes come back to Canada. They have some interesting cars. Your looks terrific.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Winter tires are now off the Subie!  All season Yokos back on and looking good.

The interior carpets might need a shampoo after a winter of salty deposits, though.  The winter mats did an amazing job but there was some spillover in one or two spots, alas.   :(

Took the JGC in for an oil change at the stealership, this one came up at ~13,000kms on the oil life readout. $210 for the oil change & another $44 in DEF. Oh well, at least it's only ~twice a year.

Took the roadster in for a complete fluid changeover, MVI, and a new set of spark plugs.   Former owner didn't keep any receipts so I had everything changed out to reset it all back to zero.  Odo is now at 50,530 miles.  Felt great to give it a good run on the way home afterward.   :skid:

I don't have time to go to Costco for it, they're always backed up in that facking place, ha, ha, ha! The darn thing takes 8L of oil, so it's not cheap. I'll keep going to the dealer until I'm outta warranty I figure.

Came to $701.  Didn't think that was too bad actually.  It's an Indy, not the dealer.   The former owner had all his work done there so they know the car.  The service guy called me part way through to say he found a record of when he changed the water pump on it back in late 2017 so he said the coolant did not need to be changed.  Thought that was pretty cool!

Dealer is over 100 km from me and likely would have cost north of $1000 if i had it done there.   :)
