Because my commute sucks, I average $6-700/month in gas....more in the summer when I am doing more pleasure driving as well.

Gross.
That would probably be 3-4 months spend for me.
10 minute commute + fun car that needs filling about once every two weeks for the win!!

Yikes.   :o :o

I could go anywhere from 9 months to a year on that, depending on vacation and curling trips.

Wouldnt it be cheaper just to use a cab if you drive that little ?

I did think about that but the driving is not evenly spread out.  I need to drive to places far away and it could be quite regular for a period of time.  Plus, I like to drive and my independence matters to me.  Add to that the need to haul a bit of cargo (curling gear for more than one for example) and having my own car still wins.

Once those things are no longer as true as they are today, I'll probably join a car sharing program for most trips and rent when I need a vehicle for long road trips.

I bought a store bought set of brand new tires for a personal vehicle of mine for the first time since 2003!  (not counting the wife's vehicles). It has been mostly a mix of changing vehicles and used tire/rims. It is nice to have the snow tires off.

Changed the spark plugs. On the Peugeot 308 with the THP engine, due at 2 years. Old ones don't look too terrible. The engine uses NGK plugs, but I bought them from the dealer last week in Toulouse anyway to be sure. Pricey and surprisingly for France, the quote did not include the 20% TVA so it was 95 €........

Loved the simplicity of the excercise though. The engine has no plastic engine cover, so a simple job taking <30mn.
Yeah, these FWD I4 are easy to do. I did the ones in my 99 Corolla in like 15 mins.

The RX-8 requires me to jack it up to reach them because they are in the driver side wheel well.

But heh, things could be worse... At least it's not a BRZ.

If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Took the Tundra to the wand wash this morning and gave it a good clean inside and out.  No full-on detail level, but I spent 30 minutes on it.

Maybe invest in a pressure washer, and have a proper tip for vehicles.

I should, but I don't really have a place to store another piece of equipment.  Plus I really like my local wand wash.

IMO a pressure washer is unnecessary for washing a car.  A hose works just fine.

I use the local wand washing place all the time to clear off the dirt and salt.  It's $4 a wash and takes me 3 minutes.

Yep, I have a pressure washer...it's never been used on any vehicle that I own. It's excessive and not good for the paint, or anything for that matter (high pressure water gets into places it probably should be). I do use it occasionally to quickly clean up a press car, and I have used it on the Wrangler to clear thick mud after off-roading. That's it.

Foam cannons work wonderfully with pressure sprayers....only way to go with a pressure washer.

Nice.

You should do a summary of your costs from when you bought it until this point.
