Spent an hour and a half freezing outside paint correcting the hood on the DTS....It had sat in the driveway unused all week, and as a result of the ice storm, snowstorm and whatever else came through, had accumulated 3-4" of ice on the top surfaces that I could not remove. Used it Saturday night to go from Mississauga >> Oshawa and back, figuring that would help melt it, but the ambient temp was too cold and nothing budged.
This morning it was a bit warmer out and I drove it to a trade show in the city, and parked in the sun. When I came out I was happy to see that the hood was totally clear....except the ice had slid off and left a lot of big gnarly scratches. I was able to lift the rest of the ice off carefully, drove home, and then started working on the hood....I was able to get the scratches out, except for one particularly deep one....but not how I was planning to spend my Sunday afternoon.
