bought new winter and summer tires for the Mini, and reserved new summers for the Alfa when new batches are made

Mini gets General Altimax 12s for winters, and General G-Max RS summers. Alfa gets Firestone Indy 500s.

It is good to work in parts, saved a lot of money.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

I'd help all you out with your towin' and jammin' needs, but helping out DorkZilla's mom depleted my stamina...her girth was far more than I could handle.

Saw this today and thought of GBA Towing Service.

Though honestly, I've not seen someone try to recover a car like this...but maybe that's how they do it in Australia.

They look great in-hand, and are getting solid reviews online. Look forward to spring and really testing their capabilities.

I'm on the fence between these and the all-season version.  Since I work nights, the roads are frequently cool during my commute home....plus often raining.

And the reviews are even better for the all-season version.

I dunno, it took some Aussie engineering to break it.
But yeah, not if you're towing people out every day, use a clevis.

Or, how about a pintle hook?
Are they good for recovery yanks?

I'd also say...never back up to the bumper of the car you're trying to pull out and floor it while doing a burnout with a crowd of people standing around in the "danger" area.... :rofl2:

Yeah that was dumb.  I have used a tow rope, 3 or 4 times around the tow bar of my vehicle.  Applied the gas lightly, just enough so the other car gets a little extra momentum.

Yep the AS-05 would be a better bet then for you I guess. Had them on the Saab. Fantastic tire.

Put the General Arctic 12s on the Mini

Holy God is is like night and day. So much more grip on ice and snow, and it feels as though I have unlocked an additional "comfort" suspension setting. So much better than the runflat Blizzaks...why does anyone use runflats at all?

So far, very very impressed.

Nice! Look forward to RWD impressions vs my FWD impressions.

They really look like a great tire when in hand.
