Were you using a chain? Yikes....

He wasn't stuck in snow, just needed a little pull up a slippery surface, so there was constant pressure, rather than a yank.

We had 10cm last night.  Empty B-Train was stuck at an intersection.  Tundra to the rescue!!!

I used to get all sorts of cars unstuck when I had my Ranger.  I've never been able to do a Semi before...  ;D

Thats impressive!!! I pulled two cars out of the ditch today, but a CR-V and a Sonic are not nearly as impressive.
Lighten up Francis.....

^^ LOL.

I need to get on with buying my recovery gear.  I gave away all my old stuff when I sold the Ranger, as I didn't want to accumulate stuff I wasn't using.

I need a recovery strap and two clevises.  I have an extra drawbar that I'll attach the recovery strap to with a clevis, then the other clevis is for the vehicle being towed (assuming they have a closed loop tow hook like Fords do).

Yes, Kinetic ropes are amazing, and most importantly, easy on equipment.  I just need to find one on sale, as they really aren't cheap.

I have one of these in the JGC, does the trick to pull someone out when needed. Used it this past summer when a guy with a 2wd truck couldn't get up the boat launch (gravel & not maintained) at the end of the day.  https://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/2-in-x-20-ft-10-000-lb-tow-strap/A-p8402232e

I didn't say cheap out, I said find one on sale...
The 3/4" ones are $99 and good for 19,000lbs

Would you need more than that??

https://www.amazon.ca/20x3-Kinetic-Recovery-Black-19000/dp/B072KFN7QP/ref=pd_sbs_469_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B072KFN7QP&pd_rd_r=3ad0b3de-12b4-11e9-9049-a54cd29cdc2e&pd_rd_w=zeiNR&pd_rd_wg=29CCR&pf_rd_p=d4c8ffae-b082-4374-b96d-0608daba52bb&pf_rd_r=DYMMCAGV26BS6KY7A4YT&psc=1&refRID=DYMMCAGV26BS6KY7A4YT

I bought the 7/8" one for under $120 on sale. My thought was all the big ass rig rockets that would take more of a run at it.
I suppose.

But just for extracting CR-Vs and Sonics, I'm guessing 3/4" would suffice just fine?

I can never get used to hearing German.  Doesn't roll off the tongue as nicely as the romance languages.
Me too. And a bunch of words are simply unpronouncable (had a discussion in another thread) simply cuz the German words lack proper use of vowels. Sounds like a tongue-twister + TV static  :rofl2:

While there is also a trend up in crossovers, they are almost always front-drive small ones like the Ecosport and 3008. People do tend to realise that the benefits of SUVs for a 2-week ski holiday aren't worth the compromises the remaining majority of the year.

The 1 1/4" ropes are good for fullsize trucks and SUV's, according to the manufacturer.  The 3/4" and 7/8" ropes are for JEEPS and midsize SUV's.

I figure I at least want something that can pull out my own truck, and the 1 1/4" ropes are $249.99
