Installed the Spring Booster in the Mini. I can now see why people buy these things, the already alert Cooper S pedal is now quite hyperactive. I like it.

Did some Xmas shopping for the Mini too. Bushings, CV boot kits, and some interior amenities along with an OBD2 scanner. Because of course it threw another CEL. Probably for "biweekly checkup that the CEL light still activates" CEL.  :rofl2:

Tidied some wiring as well so the leads for the aux input, Sprint Booster, and exhaust cutout switch are all hidden under carpet and trim. Previous job was rather lazy and did not jive with my OCD propensity for "cable shui"

The wiring on the Innocenti is buggered so I acquired a spare harness from an automatic S model. Mine is the up level SE so it is missing a few things like power windows and rear speakers. I figured I would use it as a guide. I noticed mine is even more screwed. Here is the spare harness connectors. These are the proper ones.

The harness on the car has no proper plug blocks. With the spare harness I figured out how to connect but there are still a few wires missing.

Preparing to strip out wiring harness. I think I will try swapping in the spare one to see if that goes well.

my thing I did with my car was park it at the dealership... last night, I just felt like driving something else. took this https://www.grimsbychrysler.ca/certified/Alfa+Romeo/2018-Alfa+Romeo-Giulia-a433eb980a0e08bb0f93130b75578691.htm home. while nice, not a car I would rush out to grab... seemed pretty good though. could have used nicer exhaust note... and the infotainment looked sleek, but was harder to use than the FCA system.

I do agree with him. The basic 4cyl could be louder IMO (500 Abarth loud!) and the infotainment is good, simple and straightforward....but not amazing. It is a great car, but certainly not one I would rush out to buy either. BECAUSE NO MANUAL.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Rolled past 40k today in the A36 in Doubs (25), coincidentally not far from the Peugeot factory where my 308 was assembled. Missed the photo exactly at 40k, most of the time i was using cruise which takes up the whole screen by default.

Did an oil change on the IS-F today. Car was running Amsoil Signature, but NOT an Amsoil filter. Appears to be a K&N oil filter. Drain interval is 8,000. This oil has 16,000 on it. I took a sample to be sent off to the new(ish) testing facility in Edmonton. Should have results in a week or so...maybe longer due to holiday backlog. Will share results.

Amsoil Signature back in with Amsoil synthetic filter.

Also put in my JDM yellow fog lights.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Speaking of oil changes, the Blubaru is having its first oil change right now.

Another first:  the Blizzaks are getting their first real test today.  It snowed overnight, finally giving Montreal some white winter coverage.

Pretty good deal for a one year old car with 10k on it. Basically $20k off of MSRP. https://www.chrysler.com/hostd/windowsticker/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin=ZARFAEDN2J7575287

Yeah, I'd have to agree, not too bad overall.

Yep, CPO is going to be a goldmine for the savvy enthusiast buyers with the Giulia and Stelvio.

I will have my 5 year old QV in red and a manual...oh wait. Nevermind.  ::)

You want the big engine and a manual?  Get a Challenger.

Want the big engine, a manual, and half decent handling?  Mustang or Camaro.  Done.  Why are we still talking?

When I get home will be trying Mass Air Flow Sensor cleaner/spray.  Sonic has a nasty stumble under almost any throttle at about 2000 rpm, worse if you hammer it, and P0101 codes comes up which is MAFS.   So for $13 figured I'd give it a shot rather than buying a new one.  Hope it works!

When is the last time you changed your air filter?  If your air filter hasn't been changed in a while, you'll get the same P0101 code, which is the MAF sensor throwing a voltage that is out of spec.

Apparently never!  :o I can't find it in my records.  Weird.  So 106,000 km and 6 yrs! Buying one tomorrow.  The MAFS is/was clean as a whistle but I cleaned it anyway.

Took the Mini in for a recall on the airbag sensor. Could tell service guy was salivating seeing a R53 pull in and tried upselling hard...at first. When he realized I knew what I was talking about and worked in the business he stopped pretty quick. Will see how their service goes today.
