So I went to use the washers on the IS-F yesterday.  First time.  And...nothing.  Or rather a dribble.  Like the reservoir was empty.  So I topped it up and tried again.  Dribble.  WTF?  Popped the hood again and had a look at the feed hose.  Looked good, attached, no kink, etc.  So I try with the hood UP.  Spray just fine now.  Close hood.  No spray.  Something is being pinched.  And it's a very slight pinch!  Because the wiper work fine with just the hood released!  But lock the hood?  No spray!

FFS!  Examined the hose with a magnifying glass to see if I can identify where the pinch is.  Nothing visible.  Tried multiple times.  Still pinched. when hood locked.

Took the car to work and was going to use spotting blue on the hose and tape on the cowls to see EXACTLY where it's pinching.  But spotting blue is oily and a PITA to remove.  So instead, I just went to our hose dept. and made a braided line cover for the wiper feed hose.  Attached, success.

But FFS...shouldn't need a stainless braided cover just so my wiper nozzle works!

This IS-F sure ain't an LS!!   ;D
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

We’re coming up on 11 years in the original battery in the Corolla. It’s just starting to show some signs of age, but still cranks the car over handily. I’ve thought about dropping a new one in before the really cold weather hits just to be safe.

I mentioned this to my wife. She says “shouldn’t the battery last longer?”  Good gawd woman! She loses track of how old stuff is. I fixed something on the clothes dryer recently and she said “why does it need fixing, it’s what, four or five years old?”  Uh, no the washer dryer set is 17 years old. They’re nice front loaders and still look modern, but no hon, they’re seventeen. We had to race to the store to buy them because we had a pre schooler that made laundry like crazy thanks to her love of mud. That pre schooler is turning 20.

I cannot believe you got a front loader to last that long.  Ten years is pretty much tops in my experience.  The bearing goes, and it’s not wotprth fixing.

Difference being it's a top loader! Mine was bought new in May 2001, Kenmore Heavy Duty, have not had to replace a single thing on it... knock on wood.

Put the 951 to bed. Tires gripped decent once warmed up, but cold the ass end was dancing around real good.

Gave the Highlander it’s annual oil change. Not bothering with an analysis kit this time, have enough evidence to show that the amsoil does as promised.

Crawled around under the old gal and everything looks good.

Is that a problem?

Just rolled past 51,000kms on the JGC, so that's 50,000km in 30 months of ownership, or 20,000km per year. Oh & by the time I got to work my fuel economy average had dropped to 15.2l/100km.

Oil change on the Corolla.  Took less than a half hour.

Well i have a 2008 subaru hatchback and really needed to remove this bolt but i couldn't do anything. I don't wanna take apart anything else. It's for my Variable Timing Solenoid.

That does look tricky. Did you try a short socket (10mm?) on a wobble extension?

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?
