mine will be coming in the next couple of months probably, brakes still have a bit of life left in them if I go gently
hopefully the postal issue will be solved by then, and plus I am not in a rush

and looking at my selection, yeah Rockauto is about as cheap as you can get for the parts - Powerstop seems to be the choice for my Saab
Saw an ad , Part source has a sale, $100 off if you order $275

Not really anything to the car specifically, but picked up the original 1st registration documents at the city hall after work today. For unknown reasons, they insisted on holding onto them for 6 months at the time of registration in May, so I got them back.

Also rolled past 37k en route to work. I should probably drive less.....

It always bugged me that Subaru sold themselves as the maker of cars for poor conditions and never installed headlamp washers.

They would have install them for some markets - they are required in Sweden.

Check the pic closely...

There's a lot of good stuff you guys miss in Canada.

However on the subject of headlamp washers, the ECE requirement is that if the headlights exceed a certain light output (most bi-xenons), then washers are required.

MY AUdi has them. They work well. Not under manual control tho'  they wash every 10 times the screen washers are used.    Get through a lot of washer fluid.  Car does have a 6 litre tank but even so one trip to TO and back means a refill.

They should be mandatory in Canada and most of the USA as well.   A VW salesman told me once that many people in focus groups don't want them 'as they make the car hood dirty"

My Lexus has them, both auto and manual control as well.  They work great!  Too bad the rear camera lens doesn't have one.  I keep a squirt bottle full of washer fluid in the trunk for that.

I disagree, I think more things need to become mandatory before that.  How clean do your lenses have to be?

...I just turn my head and look backwards

No spit, or fingers, required for maintenance  ;D

VW's hidden backup camera for the win!

Just ordered a Denso replacement.

Got it, and installed it yesterday.  Unfortunately the video I watched failed to mention there was a damping cable that was connected to the glovebox light.  I managed to break both.  I may fix it.  Or I might just leave it since I go into my glovebox exactly never.  The old filter was FILTHY and full of leaf fragments.  I am not sure it was ever changed.  Airflow through the ducts seems to be improved, which is nice.

Oh. And it will eventually break.

And I won't care.

By then there should be a bunch available at the junkyards.  And if not, it's still worth it to always have the camera clean.

I never thought I would care if I had a backup camera.  But man, they are nice to have.

If you travel unlit roads at night with lots of wildlife I would say as clean as possible.

Sure, I suppose in those circumstances.  Which is why it's probably not mandatory.  Because that's not what the vast majority of where and when people drive.  Maybe a way for to be easier to be applied in the aftermarket would be a good idea.
