The DM-V2s are quiet, and they're near silent compared to the Grabber AT2s I run in the summer. It's startling.

Yeah, I was surprised how quiet they were.  I was expecting a hum of some sort, but nope.  The difference between them an the LTXs is staggering.

I notice my WS-80's are quite a bit louder than the Firestone FR710 A/S  tires that are on the van during the warm seasons.  Like, noticeably so.  I guess that just means the Firestones are very quiet.  I WILL be looking at replacing them in the spring, and will be looking for something just as quiet.

Oh!  And I just realized on my way home from work that Oct 28th was 7 yrs to the day with the Fusion.  188,500+ km...bought it with 10,907.  25,000 km per year.  Ouch.  Didn't think it was that much.

That's about average for NB I'd say.  Would be interesting to see everyone post their current mileage and how much they drive per year.

Civic: bought in March 2007 with 6km, currently at ~190,000km for a yearly average of ~16,000km
Acadia: Bought in January 2015 with ~24,000, currently at ~90,000km for a yearly average of ~16,500km
ex rides: 93 Aerostar XLT AWD
wife ex rides: 07 Wave base, 11 Tiguan Comfortline with sport package, 14 Acadia SLE II AWD

The WS-80s on the Corolla are noisier than the summer Michelins, but the Michelins are a very quiet touring tire.

We bought the Corolla in March of 2008, so we've had it 10.5 years, and it has 210K on it. So just over 20K a year.

I've had the Highlander just shy of seven years. We've put almost exactly 200K on it during its tenure with us. So a little over 28K per year. So. Many. Long. Trips.

We're about a year and a half of owning the Golf. It's at 45k km.  So, 30k km per year.   Now that the Highlander is in the stable I expect it will take a bit more of the load. Particularly the city miles.

Yeah, I put the WS80s on the GTI yesterday. Couldn't believe the noise, even just driving around my block at 40 km/h.

Funny, because I had a note to myself on my phone to check the front wheel bearings on the GTI. Couldn't remember why I'd put it there, as the car has been quiet all summer. ??? Then, put the winters on and immediately thought "Oh, that's what the note was all about."  :rofl2:

Anyway, WS80s have four winters on them and are down to around 6-7/32". I probably would have replaced them, but since the Yukon has brand new winters I figure we'll be good. The GTI can stay parked if the roads are really bad.

Well, we've now had the Cayenne S for 5 years and put 100k on it, it's now at 192k. so 20k  per year.

I'm shopping for a transmission oil pan for it, it's rotten and wet.  :(

Do expand on the pan.  Rotten? Did Porsche make them out of biodegradable materials?

Looks like it's a little mushy all over.   I think the underbody covers can make them rust out.
I just ordered a used one from a wrecker in California, should be about $200CAD by the time it arrives.

I also need exhaust flex pipes, apparently they all break and are a bugger to repair.

Yikes, I initially read that as you were shopping for a transmission.

Nope, but I could pick one up for about $2kUSD, so not that bad.

Now, if I could only get a 915 for that price... :'(

I have Redline tranny oils in both my cars. Love it.
That being said, does Amsoil make a bad product anywhere in their lineup? They seem to have an unshakable reputation.

Rolled over 18 000 km with the golf yesterday. So my driving seems to have gone down...

I drove my fit 33 000 in 13 months of ownership.

Are they on separate wheels? If so, then you should be doing them yourself... even No-san does seasonal tire change overs now

Thanks, dad!

Naw, I don't have separate rims yet.  I had them mounted to the OEM wheels that were on it.  Keeping my eye out for a set of the Limited 17's.  Or, I'll just keep swapping them at Costco for $60.  I don't want to run steelies.

I'll be swapping over the Golfs myself once the temps really drop.  I am debating getting one of those guides that you screw in.  Amazon has a bunch in pairs, lemme know if you still want one.

Like this: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01M0FGQC9/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B01M0FGQC9&pf_rd_m=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&pf_rd_p=dd8bce25-0727-4a5d-b121-eef3dd7bc606&pd_rd_wg=8PxPO&pf_rd_r=PMWP8BP4RM6K23DVR5JR&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&pd_rd_w=gOc9O&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pd_rd_r=fab810d8-deaf-11e8-9eb4-6d23c34809f5

I have one for my car and it's amazing. I forgot it when I did a changeover a month ago and it was very unpleasant. With the guide the task is very simple.

Had the winters (Blizzak DM-V2s) swapped onto the Highlander.

They are SO much quieter than the 6 year old Michelin LTX2's that were on there.  I was beginning to wonder if it was a bearing noise I was hearing, nope - just the tires.   I'll be looking for new A/S tires in the spring.

I just swapped my DMV1s onto my truck and the magic carpet ride of the Defender LTX M/s completely disappeared. With the Blizzaks the Ridge feels like a lumber wagon. Have a hard look at the Defenders.

Forgot... I took a hellcat home the other day... I had a pretty awesome looking driveway if I do say so myself! With the tiny house, no wonder my neighbours wonder what the heck I do to drive my rides...

HOW DO YOU FORGET THAT YOU TOOK A HELLCAT HOME ?!?

Also, I"m surprised they let you use these as Demo's.  I would imagine a potential Hellcat purchaser would be particular about buying a new Hellcat that doesn't have a bunch of kms on it.

Unless this is a used car that you got in on trade.

Anyways, you should totally trade the Jaaaag in for one of these.

haha! yeah... that would go over well. the jag would cover close to 1/5th of the cost.... you can help me out with the rest!

but yeah... it was a trade. to another branded dealer and they called us to put a value on it... when we did, they asked if we wanted it for that. sure thing!

we normally wouldn't let it go out, but that day my wife's renegade was sitting in the shop, so I needed to take something home... and being that we don't let test pilots take this beast out, it was starting to get a bit of rust on the rotors, so my used manager thought it could use a little "cleaning". when I did my usual of, "what needs a ride?" I thought he was joking when he said the hellcat... turns out, nope. it needed a ride, he was a bit scared of it, and I was the only employee he trusted to drive it.

it was the most boring hellcat drive ever...  in the evening, I held off the throttle figuring I'd hit it harder in the morning... accidents in the morning, so stop and go traffic. yippee! got 13l/100 at least for the average... even in that little time with it, it is quite a machine. that engine sure doesn't need much input to want to go for a run.

Had the winters mounted on the Lexus yesterday, and good timing.  Drove ~300km today in torrential rain and the Xi3s tracked like a champ.  Nice and quiet too.  I'm really impressed with the performance and ride quality of these things.   8). The Pirelli P7+ summers are a great touring tire but they can't hold a candle to the Xi3s in wet conditions.

Did the front rotors and pads on the Tundra today.  It’s first set of pads on the front and it’s sitting at 170k. Job went really smooth. Fasteners came out like they were new. Once the old pads were removed I realized that I probably could have went another year or two, but rotors had a very slight pulse so whatever. Three hours start to finish, could likely do it half that time now that I’ve done it once on this truck.
