Put the roadster away for the season.  :'(

Jag is going next week  :(  (seasonal plates expire on Nov 1)

Washed and tucked mine away this weekend.  I didn't get seasonal plates this time, so I'll let the weather decide if it's a permanent thing for the year.  First time using the cover so figured i'd pull that on to keep it clean in the meantime, and connect the battery tender.  Still lots of room for moving around it but still may get some wheel dollies to move it around at will if i need more space.  Still have to get the snow blower in there between the two cars and it's almost half the size of the Z...lol.

Any thoughts on getting a lift for yours?  Can't  remember if you have the height.

swapped the roofs on my jeep... and my sisters.. and brother in laws. so that was good. (though I feel sad seeing the soft top get put away... plus, once I switch the wheels to my winters, the jeep now looks so pedestrian).

taking my wife's renegade out yesterday, saw a guy losing it coming down this little hill on a windy road near me... I couldn't get out of his way and he bounced off a curb and hit me. DAMN IT!!! I spun around and parks at the bottom of the hill... his car was done (an old 99 civic) and couldn't move... my car had a piece of his fascia coming out of my tire, but it turns out it was right at the bead and I just pulled it out. seems to be holding air.

so now... do I replace the tire after it was knocked into that hard? it tracked pretty straight... doesn't look like there are any bulges.... meh. I'm torn.
i used to be addicted to soap, but i'm clean now

Wouldn't it be his insurance replacing it?

^^ If insurance is covering it, I'd definitely be pushing for a replacement.  And an alignment.

Yesterday marked a seasonal turning point for us:  we put our winter gear (shovels, scrapers) in our cars.   :(

Not sure if this qualifies as the typical FGC stuff?  Needed this stuff to pass a safety (oil sensor excluded).

Last few days of the season for the Miata.  The registration expires Oct 31, so I spend Halloween putting her away.  Wash it, gas it up, install the hardtop, and take the battery out.

Wisdom around here in the Maita-brain-trust is to store top down to avoid stretching the top.  My car has spent 24 winters stored with the soft top down and the hard top in place, and the soft top works/fits perfectly, so I'm not going to mess with what's worked so far.

Later this week the Highlander and Corolla will get winter tires installed.

Plasti-dipping the (new-to-me) winter rims for the golf. Gunmetal Grey with graphite "metalizer". We'll see how it turns out.

likely... but I haven't even called anyone or anything. I've never done anything through insurance and I really hope I can always say that.

I had it scheduled today to get the tire swap anyways, so I just marked down to inspect it and do an alignment once they are mounted. if they don't find anything wrong, it's 100 bucks out of my pocket.

the biggest loss of the day was having to disappoint my kids and wife with missing the concert... insurance isn't paying me back for that, so I don't really care.

Aaand I'm pretty happy with the results. Originally standard silver colour seen on most vw cars. Looking forward to mounting the winters now!

^^ Looks good!

I’m curious to see how they last through the winter. I have no experience with plasti-dip. You figure it will be good for the life of the new tires, or is it something you need to touch up every year?

I'm hoping the life of the tires. One advantage was I was able to paint with the tires off. This depends on if the paint gets damaged by the installation process or not.

I plasti dipped another set I bought used in Feb right after I bought the car and the plasti dip has held very nicely, but that didn't suffer much salt. A friend who dipped at the same time removed his plasti dip and while it does come off cleanly, it is well adhered to the surface.
