I'm surprised you could find six crew cab trucks with the 3.3.

Lol agreed. That’s why one came with extra options because they had to bring it in but they gave us the options for “free.”

Finding that many more base trucks was why we ended up ford over others.

What are you doing with the Sierra?
I love it when a plan comes together.

I'm guessing the guy who said the F150 won't fit in his garage got it.

Didn't even know they had the new 3.3 replacing the 3.5, guess I'm outta touch, lol!

Great looking truck, Vmango.  I hope they will be reliable workhorses.

Nice looking truck Vmango!  Congrats!

Lots of crazy good deals lately.  Friend of mine picked up a new Ram 1500 last week.  Said he originally wanted to wait and get a 2019 model in the spring but the deal on the 2018 was too good to pass up.  Lots of guys I work with buy Rams because we get a corporate discount that can be combined with other offers.  Almost tempted myself.

Congrats. I've seen some of these 3.3 V6 crew cabs at great prices, like low 30s. I always thought these were great deals, and I'd be interested in your real world driving impressions of this base model.

But come on, how come you didn't buy 6 Ridgelines for the crew? ;)

Maybe keep the Sierra around until you've spent some quality time with the Ford

Seriously though, congrats on the new truck, the Ram that I have through work is a fairly basic spec (Big Horn) so the interior is work-truck grade and I don't mind at all. It does have the correct number of cylinders though!

So, the 3.3 V6 is non-turbo?  No idea this was even an option.  I thought Ford were turboing everything these days.

It is only fitting that the good man I slag for his delay in purchasing the muscle car he so desires would righteously call me out on the V6.  :rofl2:

So deserved and so true.

The 3.3 makes more power than V8s of not too long ago.  It will prove more than adequate.

It makes more power, but it doesn't make more torque.  This lack of torque will be noticeable.

Honestly, the way I drive my truck, I doubt I would notice it.  I don't tow or haul.

Fair enough.  And for VMan's use, (I don't believe he tows/hauls much with it anyway), the base engine should be more than adequate.

Adequate being the key word, here.

Still, don't expect this truck to be a rocketship.  The lack of torque will make it feel fairly pedestrian.

Agreed, peak horsepower is at 6500 rpm and peak torque at 4000 rpm.  It'll need to be wound out to make all of it's power.

But going from 200k km to 0 km for 0$ is math that is pretty easy to follow*.

Technically, VMan pays for it at the end of the day...

It's the base engine, usually seen on fleet-spec regular cabs and extended cabs. I'm truly shocked that a dealer would stock an XLT crew cab 4x4 with this motor.

Technically, VMan pays for it at the end of the day...

Operating expense... will cost him less than if he was paying out of his personal income. Company makes less, pays less taxes, Vman makes less, pays less taxes... in the end he/they will come out a bit ahead. I write off a portion of my car thru my corporation as well, end up paying a bit less taxes because it reduces the company income.

I get that, but at the end of the day, by spending money on equipment, even though it's a tax write-off, the company still makes less net profit, and therefore VMan is worth less at the end of the day.

I get that businesses have to buy and renew equipment, but as the owner of a company, buying yourself a new company vehicle still isn't 'free'.  He'll pay for it one way or another.

Bought 6 trucks for some of our site guys. Ford had and amazing deal this month - too good to be true, really.

I always seem to be driving Fords in work fleets, they price their basic McTruck aggressively. I like them, even the base version has all you need and drives well.

Deals might be getting better lately as Ford is in some trouble:
