Awwww  :(
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Well, at least some lucky bastard will get a decently fixed up old car to drive.  You put a lot of time and energy into it getting it right (enough), didn't you?

As for me, well, dammit, I had to spend another $4 and taxes on the Fusion!  Facking license plate light went out.  185,000 km...almost $600 spent in the last 7 years keeping it on the road.  Facking FAC's! What a POS.  >:(

and on to the next one! for most of these cars, have you worked out your /hr pay? most of the time is likely you and another driving all over to get the cars and bring em home! it's awesome though... I love that you bring such odd-balls back to life.

I put a coat of carnauba on the jag... just did it by hand. didn't make it look any better, but if im going to keep driving it on nice days, I'd like that little bit of added protection. (and yeah, maybe eventually i'll get a show and shine up before I sell it!)
i used to be addicted to soap, but i'm clean now

I definitely lost some cash on the Pontiac. And spent way too much time wrenching versus driving but a big old boat with a three on the tree for a bucket list item.

I mostly do ok on cars so it isn't the end of the world.

No to my cars but a friends RAV4 , yesterday my wife and her went out shopping , when the got home , there was water in the passengers footwell
I told her I would check the web and see if I can find the what the problem may be
I thought it probably the condensate tube was probably plugged
Saw a couple videos , look like an easy fit

She came by , in about 5 mins I had the tube out , I could not blow though it
I blew it out using my compressor , re installed the tube , ran AC for awhile and saw water dripping on the drive
I believe I have solved her problem
The tube

Was finally able to bring Miss Peanut in for that A/C condenser recall.  What a huge difference in cooling!  I hadn't realized how weak the original A/C was.  I am very pleased.

Brought my car in for an ECU flash.

Service recall to adjust engine output when A/C is on full and the car is decelerating.

Oil change today... Got a new doughnut wheel for the Outlander as the original one was completely rusted (stored under the car).

Over the weekend I cleaned up the headlights with Meguiar's kit... they were quite bad, but very pleased with the result. They really look like new now and it only took about 2-3 hrs to do them...

Some bad news coming my way - the exhaust may need some attention very soon. I have some small (for now) leaks that will probably become bigger after this winter.

Got a price for the entire OEM exhaust front to back and it's crazy money parts wise - $2,300 + tax and this is with some serious discount (employee price). Need to look into aftermarket options or simply try to see if it can be patched....

The car is almost 12 yo and even if I'm planning to keep it for another 2 years or so, it's still crazy expensive at this point. Any thoughts?....  Does anyone know a good muffler/exhaust shop in GTA?

Otherwise the car runs like new..... Next, it needs some detailing but this is for another day.

What part of the exhaust is bad?  Like the Y or mid pipe?

One place is about 5-6 inch from the manifold and the other one is on the small pipe going into the muffler (connects the mid pipe with the muffler).

Ok..5-6 from the manifold should be Y pipe.

These guys are Canadian.  Have used them (or someone similar) once before.  Were in Toronto IIRC.

Any decent muffler shop should be able to whip you up a rear section.

Finally got around to dealing with that CEL that’s been on since June.

The plan for today was to take off the intake manifold and get the carbon cleaning done, but it took me basically all day just to get the damned manifold off. There are hoses and crap everywhere and zero room to work. It took me over an hour just to remove four stupid screws to get the throttle body off.

Anyway, finally got everything apart and it was ugly! Carbon and black goo everywhere, and there was even a chunk of plastic (from the broken manifold, I guess) sitting in one of the intake tracts.
