Decorated the summer toy with flags for the Canada Day long weekend; Canada Day falls on a Sunday which is also cruise night in Winnipeg!

Bought this windscreen for the M Roadster and it arrived today.  There is a little more wind buffeting in the Z3 than the S2000 (comes with a windscreen) and my wife was complaining a little, so thought I'd give this a try.  Online reviews were mixed and unfortunately it's raining out now, so a test drive will have to wait.  I wanted clear glass but the supplier didn't have any available, and i don't like the engraved ones.

So you got a tinted one (which is good for head lights) and at what price?  I paid about $400 CAD for a LoveTheDrive unit (which is a black mesh) and was very satisfied.

Tom, I know you probably haven't had much seat time in the Z3M yet, but what are your initial thoughts on it vs the S2000?

Came to $247 delivered to the door in two days.  Thought that was a decent price.

I took the van in for an oil change.  I went to the little Indy Mechanic down the street from my work.  2 things I like about him:

1)  I drop the van off, and it's a 5 minute walk back to my office.
2)  He charged me $34 after tax for a conventional oil change.  For Crying Out Loud, I can't even buy the oil and filter for that cheap if I do the work myself!!!!  It's a no brainer to take it to him for oil changes.  I'm going to do just that from this point onwards.

I'm not the only one, either.  3 or 4 other people in my office take their vehicles to him.

Took the Miata on some twisty roads this morning to go trail run outside of my 'burb and jousted with an RS3 on the way home.  Good cars like that are often driven by ham-fisted doofuses, but this one was driven well, smooth and fast.  Nice to see a good car in good hands.

Had the windows tinted.   8)

I should have measured the interior temp of my car before I got the windows tinted.  Windows tinted, sunshade in the windshield: I have a thermometer in the car today and it's showing 38C at noon with mostly cloudy skies.

HUGE improvement!  Took my wife out for a short drive after dinner and we were immediately impressed, even before we hit the highway.  Some of the reviews I read claimed it didn't make much, if any difference at all.  Christ, it was like driving a different car!  Well worth the money IMO!

They make a huge difference. The one in my car is adjustable so that air is blocked or let through. In some instances you may want more air in the cockpit when it is very hot or humid. Also lets you drive your car later in the season.

Well, this project went on for a bit. Right rear bumper pad was coming off the 951, so I took it off & all the studs snapped from corrosion over the years. Read about guys having success epoxying new studs, so I tried that. Wasn't successful, lost the pad somewhere on my daily commute. So I ordered new pads, they are slightly thinner that the original ones, even though they're factory pieces, and they weren't cheap. So I got around to doing them today, had to take off the rear diffuser to get at the bolts. Overall it took me around 2hrs in total to complete the job as I ended up washing a few pieces before reinstalling. Here are a few pics of the old one & the epoxy attempt, and then the new ones installed.

Oh & I think it's time for new rear tires, lol!

Had a shop fix a curbed wheel yesterday.

Also installed a G meter for my car.
