It's clean!  I finally washed off the bug guts from last week's road trip.  Sonata is nine years-old and has less than 86,000 kms on it.

Looking good!

Thanks!

much better design than what followed, to be honest

still handsome in a kind of old Lexus/Audi kind of way
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Opened the hatch on the Yukon and noticed there were two new screws holding the license plate on. Also noticed they were those security Torx screws with the pin in the middle. WTH? ???

I remember putting new screws in a couple years ago, but they sure weren’t those (I don’t even have the Torx drivers with the hole.)

The only thing I can think of is that the dealer did it a few weeks ago when it was in for an oil change. Seems really odd, though: first of all that they’d even notice a couple of license plate screws missing during an oil change, and secondly that they’d replace them with those security screws. Maybe license plate theft is a thing around here and they were trying to be helpful. ???

Buddy bought a setup to wash his car, and he offered to wash it for $15(I was going to say a dinner, but that's fine).

Since I have a low/high halogen beam bulb 9012 that went out, I ordered for my Volt a HID conversion kit. We'll see how it goes.
Need to wash her later today.

OMG.   check engine light on my FGC.   (attached image 1)

just kidding.   no, it is really on.   I changed oil, and forgot to plug the throttle position sensor back in.  CEL came on.    it was a momentary panic/butt-clenching time for me.  plugged it back in. will disappear by itself.

Also, Meguires Ultimate Compound with dual orbit polisher for the annual paint cleaning.

then, meguires ultimate polish, with polisher,
then hand waxed.  collinite.   it looks plasticy but i'm ok with it.

Discovered that owning a Miata is an amazing way to save money.  Take it to Costco and you WILL NOT buy anything over what's on your small list.

The skirts I see are the super short ones barely covering the young ladies legs that ask me about the car wherever I'm stopped.   ;D

Rear tailpipe rotted out on the 951 (they're known for this), when I bought it the previous owner had installed a slip on pipe over the rotted section. Well the slip on slipped off last Monday somewhere on the 417, so I dropped by my mechanic last Tuesday & he told me to buy a new section & he'll weld it on for me. The muffler & the rest of the exhaust are all original stainless steel pieces & you can see someone welded on a tailpipe section once already. I ordered a new stainless piece from TDot Performance & it arrived today, came with a clamp as well, so I cut off the rotted section & clamped on the new pipe for now. Will take it & get it welded on next week. It's not quite centered perfectly with my 5min install, but good enough for now.

32 years  on the original exhaust. You did well with only replacing the small tail pipe section. I thought i was doing well with a 28 year original.
I guess it helps that these cars aren't winter driven.

I'm sure there's some 944 owner bitching like hell that it only lasted that long.  I loved PCA meets and listening to people gripe.

He's going to be excommunicated from the PCA because that tailpipe is not stock-looking (or something).    :rofl2:
