Yeah it is a wonderful car. His dad bought it when he was 19. His first car. He started a business and at times slept in thecar. He ended up being very wealthy and kept the car as a reminder of where he came from. It’s bittersweet and my BIL is keeping it because it was so special to his dad but he is not a car guy at all. It is in great shape and with a little TLC from a gear head it would be incredible.

I feed his lack of being a car guy will kill it as it just sits most of the time.
You'll just have to take it out & exercise it then [emoji16]  Sweet ride!

Detailed the GS-350 this weekend. What a pita getting the rail dust removed by clay barring alone.  :P  That took longer than anything.  Gonna try one of the rust removers next time.

Not mine but I took my BIL's 1973 Celica GT for a nice long spin. It's awesome driving old cars. Hilarious the differences between a modern sports car like my Camaro and this. Even though it's slow as balls in comparison it's still a lot of fun. Very involving as nothing is power assisted. It's a 5 speed. It was his dad's and his dad bought it when he as 19. He passed away last year and so it's staying in the family.

I think I finally really get the appeal of some of these older cars. Smells like gas and an old boat, you have to concentrate, you feel the sights and sounds, and cruising on a sunny day is a lot of fun!

Wow, awesome. I haven't seen a Gen 1 Celica in ages

Lost a lugnut the other day.  I must have missed tightening it when I did my winter tire changeover two weeks ago.  I got one for free from a local pick 'n pull.  They're literally strewn all over the ground.  Just picked one up, checked to make sure it was the same size, and threw it on.  Turns out a Chrysler lugnut is a Chrysler lugnut is a Chrysler lugnut.

I also discovered my mom's Land Rover had a screw in one tire when I was over at her place on Saturday.  It wasn't losing air, but still...screw in the tire...it's a ticking time bomb.  All the tire places were booked solid, so I took the wheel off and replaced it with the spare. The spare is a full-size with an alloy rim, so that is now her new tire, and the one with the screw will be dropped off to be patched at the tire shop's convenience, and will turn into the new spare when fixed.

I WAS pleasantly surprised that the Disco Sport has; A) A full size spare, and B) it has an identical rim to the rest of them.

Nope, you just got lucky.

If  you picked an old Chrysler they even had left-hand thread on one side.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Just ordered a power steering pump for the Chevy truck, a window regulator for the Cayenne and a flasher relay for the 911.

I ordered the first two and checked the price, then added the relay and the $17 relay somehow only added $0.75 to the total due to the shipping somehow being cheaper.
I don't understand, I just quickly pressed the checkout button.  Thanks Rockauto.

"Quickest checkout in the west!"

 :rofl2:

I didn't order the rear suspension bits for the Highlander from Rockauto only because they only carry the Monroe quickstruts, and even though the old gal is well, old, I wanted better quality.  My indie tech sells a quick-strut he makes himself and the prices are very good - he figures if he makes a few bucks on DIY guys like me, it's better than nothing, and cements his relationship with us when we do need something done.  The KYB units are great, glad I went with them.
