bought LED licence plate bulbs for the Alfa. Warning light still wont go out. Back to old style I guess.

What did you hope to solve? Led duesn’t draw enough current and car indicates a bulb still burnt out?
Unless you get ones with a built in resistor..
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Put a resistor in parallel in the circuit and mount it somewhere cool, and you should be good.

Sweet!  Should be relatively easy.

nah, just bought old style bulbs. Easier to swap them then messing with electrics.

Lesson learned.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Finally washed the dirt and salt out of the findaway mats, vacuumed both cars.  Man, it was way overdue.

I just got back from Vegas today, so this weekend is a bit of a write off. Maybe next week, or weekend.

Those resistors are pretty easy to work with. You tap 2 wires and that's it. I have done it to my old Accord turn signals to get rid of hyperflashing, no problems.

So I had a wiring issue with the trailer.  When I installed the brake controller in the van last weekend and tested it with the trailer...nothing.  The controller didn't even recognize that any trailer brakes were hooked up.  Uh Oh.  It had to have been either an issue with the van, or an issue with the trailer.  The issue was compounded by the fact that I wasn't getting 12V power from the van to the trailer, so things like the refrigerator wouldn't work while on the road, and the battery wouldn't charge.

I spent this weekend with a multimeter and a circuit light.  I determined that the van wasn't the issue, that all the signals were coming out of the van plug as they should.  Then I went at the trailer, and ended up pulling my hair out.  The trailer is 13 years old, and has had multiple owners, and it seems like someone has already been at the trailer wiring with some snippers and a crimping tool.  Not my idea of fun.  Wiring isn't my strong suit, either.  Anyway, I went on to the popupportal forum and asked for some help.  One member posted a wiring diagram for the brakes, which helped me to no end.  Turns out I had a bad ground.  I ran a new ground wire from the brakes to the front, and lo and behold:

The brake controller recognized the brakes, AND I have 12v power from the van to the trailer, so all my accessories work while on the road.  I just got back from a road test with the trailer hooked, where I calibrated the brake controller, and confirmed that the brakes actually work.  I'm so happy now.  Van and trailer are now 100% ready for our upcoming road trips.

Nice work solving that.  That must be a relief.

I added 20L of DEF.  The warning hadn't come on but it had been 15k since I last topped it off.

Detailed the 1er today:

-Interior wipe down (dash, door panels, seats, glass). Vacuum. Removed salt stains.
-Quick engine bay rinse and wipe down.
-Exterior wash, paint decontamination (IronX for rust fallout, clay bar), wax

Boy, it took me 5 hours! I don't even want to drive my car now since its sooo clean.

This weekend gave the RX300 an oil change....what a horrible place for an oil filter, had to buy a special filter wrench to get it off.

Woke the Cavalier up from a long winter hibernation. Quick wash and it received its 16,000 km service. Total odometer sits at 16,277 now.

THAT is cool.  They were disposable cars, so to see one in mint condition is a treat.

Car of my childhood, that.  My parents had one just like it.
