None of my tranny parts are in yet, all in transit.
So, I thought I'd look at my vibrating Outback, had it on a hoist but didn't see anything, hoped it was tires, but now it's squeaking in reverse at the right frequency for a u-joint in the driveshaft, which was the suspect part anyhow. Changed tires as well and still vibrating on harder acceleration or over 80kph.
Problem is, the driveshaft is not a serviceable part, so u-joints aren't usually listed as a replacement part, you're supposed to buy a complete driveshaft, cheapest I found is Rockauto at $500CAD plus $105CAD delivery. DORMAN 936900
Subaru DIY guys have discovered a couple of u-joints that work with a little filing, so tomorrow I'm seeing if I can get those, or if any of the local driveshaft rebuilders can do it for reasonable money.
Anyone have better info? 2003 Outback VDC
