Chaos, may I suggest leasing a base model diesel XE Jag for the next three years? Give time for the EV market to ramp up. The diesel will excell at your long commute. I only got 103 km out of an eGolf this winter, and that's with moderate urban highway use and warm parking during the day!

The little kitty fits your Alpha - SAAB "Euro yet different" tastes IMHO. A neighbor bought a base one, black on black. From my experience with the larger XF 2.0d, you should be able to get the lighter car in the fives on highway trips (my Golf TDI would go down to 4.1).

 :iagree:

thanks for the suggestion, but no the Jag is not on my radar. It is pretty, but also expensive.

We have a very short commute, under 50km round trip from the suburbs to downtown-ish Ottawa. Volt would work for that, as would many hybrids. I love diesels, but it would make no sense right now to get in a lease for one. I barely drive long distance as it is.

Replaced the map sensor on the Saab, running better now, will see how the fuel/oil consumption is over the next little while.

Oh, and it is Alfa, not Alpha. Tisk tisk  :P
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

In no way would I consider 25 km one way a "very short commute".

coming from nearly Manotick to downtown Ottawa, yeah it is. Toronto peeps have it worse, and Americans even more so.

20km is nothing to go from suburbs to downtown

I agree. I would consider that average.  Currently, that's round trip for my wife.  That's why she takes the van.

If someone says they have a "very short commute" I'm thinking it's like 5-10 minutes, tops. Doesn't matter where they live.

Mine is about 15 minutes or 10kms. I'd consider it short.

The bigger clip goes inside the hollow piston (the wider end) and the middle part of it clips over the edge of the pad.

I am not sure about the smaller clip though.

Those calipers do look almost identical to 3rd gen f-body units, which are also shared with S10s (all of them I think...)

Heard back from the vendor. Small clip is not required.

started the bimmer.

real quad exhausts (notice the 4 water droplets..., for some reason it made me happy).  haven't started this car in like 2 months.  still can't drive around in it as i don't have winter tire anymore, but left it running for 10 minutes or so to let the engine oil flow around.

I am just happy the Saab is no longer getting 20l/100km. Yes, that is no typo. Back down to the 10s...thank you Meili.

Not done yet. Once there was drums now there are discs. Still needs brake lines and master cylinder hooked up. Sadly the stock wheels don't fit anymore.
