The Sienna AWD is the same as the Highlander - so up until 2014 it is a the full time AWD system.  Very capable!  Less clearance, but otherwise it's full time with the electronic LSD-mimicking that actually works really well.

So the 2015+ Sienna has inferior AWD?

Yep, most late model Siennas out here are ex-rental, so no AWD.

So how much would pay for me to drive it there?  And fly back?  I kinda have time on my hands.  Plus have to sample some new beers at some brewery in NB...

My bil in Kelowna couldn't find a decent awd sienna when he was searching in 2016, so he bought a new Santa Fe XL.  He's got three teenage boys all in hockey, and the entire family skis, and they also have a medium size dog.  They wanted awd for going to the skiing trips and and wanted something with a third row. His is fully loaded he's been really pleased with it so far.

I don’t get people who put their auto climate control on max hot. Putting it on max hot doesn’t warm up the interior any faster than putting it at the desired temperature say 21 or 23. All it does it turns the car into a sauna.

The SE and up definitely had a nicer ivory interior. Does Toyota do plastic wheels? I thought their lower trim steering wheels were vinyl, my current Sienna is. Plastic wouldn’t be a deal breaker but would definitely deduct points for me.

I’d look into Vancouver if I couldn’t find anything in Kelowna. Better selection and lower prices there.

But Kelowna Toyota did have a used AWD Sienna last time I checked.

So the 2015+ Sienna has inferior AWD?

Toyota changed the AWD system on the Highlander and Sienna to a much simpler "PTO" (power take off) style unit - far fewer mechanical bits, meaning lighter, easier to service, and so on.  But, it's no longer full time 50:50 - it's more akin to the older Subaru system found on their automatic transmission cars from the 2000s where it would operate with only minimal power to the rear wheels during light throttle straight driving conditions - engaging more power rearward as needed.

It's a very good on-road system, but doesn't have the same AWD "grunt" that the older 50:50 system does.  For 99.99999% of drivers, it's excellent.  I just prefer the feel of the older system.  I also do take the HL off road periodically, so I like the older system.  Sienna owners?  Uh, no.

Good to know, thanks.  Either system should suffice for our purposes,

Pulled out the pressure washer & took a monster layer of salty gunge off the CX-5 this afternoon,  then gave it a hand wash.
Looks great again, which should last until i get to the end of the street..

Yep, good day for de-salting. I gave the Escalade (another) thorough wash, including all the jambs, floor mats, etc; I even gave the rims a coat of protective wax (I hate running chrome in the winter). She's holding up well though; these were well built for winter use.

I made a dump run.  When hooking up the utility trailer to the van, I forget to connect the wiring to the van.  The cable dragged the whole way to the dump and back.  Think I will get a new trailer end connector.  Also my swivel jack is pretty rough.  Might replace that too.  When winding it, it doesn't go up or down anymore, even after greasing it up.

Put some new seat back saver thingy in the MDX. The old ones will go in the Civic.
I got myself to take out the rubber floor mat from the Civic and dumped quite a bit of water out.  I think the pooled water was causing condensation and frost on the inside of the window in cold mornings.

That works too! I will go put $90 of gas in it.  If your easy on the gas you might make Montreal from here.  Should I take the roof rack on or off?
