Pretty poor gas mileage.  Struggles to get under 10L/100km.    Amazing that the Golf R is much better.

But Golf Rs look so booooring.  And some people like that, which is cool.  But not for me.

Everybody knows the STI gets poor gas mileage.  My post was more about all the complaints I hear about the STI being a poor daily driver, not practical being a sedan only, rough ride, etc...

My comment wasn't about the looks of either vehicle.  I had no idea the STI was so bad with fuel economy.  I compared it the Golf R, as the performance specs and price are the closest.

Put the winters on the MDX just in time for tomorrow's cold spell.  It took less than the first time - 1 hr. from start to finish using the scissor jack from the MDX.
The amount of lift needed was close to 15-17 inches.  The cheap one from CT would not have been enough.

Having done this without a proper jack twice, I think I'll invest in a proper jack for the spring switchover.  I didn't have to pay $40~50 per car, but I did buy a socket set for $80 and a torque wrench for $55, so I'm not ahead, yet.

Damn those 18 inch wheels were heavy, my back hurts, again.

I have to go see the tenants for a property I manage.  Was going to take the 6, and have it detailed while I was in Hamilton, but I don't think so now.  Think I will take the beater, the Entourage.

Changed the oil in the Fusion on me own in me garage; got the Sonic done at the GM dealer for 50% off Winter Service.  Probably not a lot more than doing it on my own.  Plus they changed the cabin filter...whodathunk a Sonic had a cabin filter! (that was 28 bucks right there...if they don't get you coming, they'll get you going!  :P My bad for saying yes, but I didn't, and still don't know where to look for it.)

Just plenty of deer blood and meat on the plastic under covers, mudguards, etc.

My dog LOOOOOVES that...pretty sure Kiss - Lick It Up is playing in his head.  I was glad it was a minor amount when it happened to me and a pressure washer took a good chunk (haha) of it off.  ;D

Nothing at all -- for the third day in a row.  I haven't even driven it.  Been sick since Sunday night.  Ugh.

Winter tires on as of yesterday.  Just in time too, if the weather forecast is to be believed.

Visiting parents this weekend, and some relatives from New York also were here. Took them on a day trip out to the Blue Ridge, me driving my mother's fairly recent 2016 Audi A3 1.8T. 5 hours of total drive time, some autobahn secteurs (130-140+), country roads, mountains, even overtaking 2 other vehicles on a two lane country road with a full load of 4 adults. So a thorough évaluation then......and it's as expected.

The A3 does everything fairly well. Good car, well engineered. It's also the most sterile, soulless expérience I've ever had on wheels. I will never buy an Audi.

Drove the 128i to Montreal today and back to Ottawa.

Found a nice new rock chip on my fender. Looks like I gotta touch it up tomorrow to protect it from salt and winter.

FINALLY got all the matching wheels on the 72 MGB and tucked it away for the winter. Come Spring I'll finish it up; needs a dash cap, engine bay detail, front brake flex lines (they just look suspect), and a few other little details.

I've owned a half dozen or so MGBs over the years (and many, many more if you count cars own by parents) and this is legitimately one of the best...zero rust, pre-smog five-main engine, factory wire wheels, and the great looking Blaze red (orange) paint. Being a late chrome bumper car it also gets the more usable interior (glove box, console, headrests, etc).

This is the '72 right?      My UK spec 71  did not have the side markers and only had 2 wipers...and mine had overdrive and rostyle steel wheels.  Was just white instead of a great colour like yours

What a beautiful car, Zach!

I got the winter tires put on the wife's Infiniti today and also put the S2000 and MR2 away for the season.  Always sucks putting your fun cars away for the next six plus months or so.  :(

X2.

MX-5 isn't tucked away yet....but this could be a sign:
Rear wheels have very little grip when goosed in 2nd gear in ~5 degree weather.  Pow-ah!!   ;D

Looks great.  I can't seem to find the paint code of my Dad's MGB that he had.  IIRC, late 60's, had chrome bumper.  Tan interior, a metallic burgundy exterior.

My brother dropped of my 6 today.  Detailed in and out.  Time to pick up that used car package at the MTO tomorrow.

Yeah '72, although the differences between the car you had and this car would be the UK vs. NA specs...All 69+ NA cars had side markers and 3 wipers. Wish my car had overdrive, the one thing it's missing.

Solstice, that Burgundy was likely a respray, there was a factory burgundy, but it was never metallic. I don't recall any standard production MG with metallic paint. Triumph and Jaguar only started to use metallics in the late 70's

Thanks for the compliments guys....I might hang onto this one for a bit.

Drove it to work today. Traction was surprisingly good as it was -1ºC  Its very lonely in the parking lot as the Fed's are off today.
