I’ve had Bridgestone RE760 (UHP summer) and Conti DW (max performance summer) on the GTI so far, and both seemed to have more dry grip than the A/S 3+. We generally don’t get a lot of rain here, so I never gave much thought to the rain performance of those tires, but the A/S 3+ does seem to be pretty darned good in the rain.

I bought the A/S 3+ because we can get snow and cooler temps in May/June and Sept/Oct. Figured that with the all seasons, maybe I could put them on a few weeks earlier in the spring and take them off a few weeks later in the fall.

Yea, that's what I'm hearing/reading....that grip is diminished in the dry for the "+" compared to the old A/S3.  I had the Conti DW prior to my A/S3..and the A/S3 was better in the dry and stupendous in the wet.  I never drove my 911 in the snow.

Wanted to buy IQ a set of A/S3 for her IS300...but since they only make the "+" version now I think I'll pass.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Oddly enough, the AS3+'s are rated higher on Tire Rack vs. the older AS3's:

AS3+:
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Pilot+Sport+A%2FS+3%2B+%28W-+or+Y-Speed+Rated%29

AS3's:
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Pilot+Sport+A%2FS+3+%28W-+or+Y-Speed+Rated%29

Yep...but look at the other tires.  Exact same tires....same tests...different scores from one test to the next.

Either way, I still think the AS3+ is a top tire in the category...and you can't go wrong buying it.  Heck, I still recommend it to people...that;s how much I like it.

IQ has decided on the Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus.....so that's what we'll be getting.

I thought he was referring to the customer ratings. A/S 3+ is at the very top, A/S 3 is almost in the bottom third: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=UHPAS

Costco was trying to sell me on the Pirellis. They were a bit cheaper than the A/S 3+, IIRC. I did a bit of research, and my take away was that they’re probably not as good as the A/S 3+ in winter conditions. Since that was my whole reason for buying an all-season instead of a summer tire, I went with the Michelins.

Yep.  Gotta buy what works for you.

I recently put Pirellis P7+ on the LS430.  Everything is massively improved (like as big a difference as one can notice) vs. the Continentals I had on.  And I tested these back-to-back with the new Toyo Versados Noirs.  I prefer about everything with the Pirellis...except for wet performance when pushed.  They seem to break free sooner than the other 2 tires.  But pushing the LS in the wet isn't a normal thing...so no worries.

IQ wants to try the Pirellis as she thinks the A/S 3+ might be tad too sporty for her IS.  The Tire Rack seems to confirm this based on ride quality.  I guess we'll see!

FWIW, we don't use our all-seasons in the snow, so snow performance means nothing for us.

Picked up the part I ordered from the dealer and installed it -- the passenger-side plastic cover that protects the jets of the headlight washer system.  The original fell off and subsequently vanished after some guy in a parking lot backed into the car last spring.  Decided I should cover up the hole to protect the mechanism from snow, ice, and salt over the winter.  Will get the bumper repaired next spring after the snow & ice go - no point in getting it fixed before the season when the roads are at their slipperiest...

Dad was driving on the freeway when a crate fell off a truck and smashed into the front of his Corolla.  Tore up the fender liner on the right front side.  Body shop estimate was decent, but a few zip ties ended up solving the problem just fine.

That's frightening. Hope he is alright.

^^^  Yeah, he managed to almost avoid it, just ran over part of it, and the damage is already fixed up.  Judging by the debris I see on our highways, I'm surprised this isn't a more common thing - I don't know many people it's happened to.

Very frightening.  I was driving on the highway in my Dad's Corolla years ago in Newfoundland, and a piece of a log that had been cut up for firewood fell out of the pick-up in front of me, and came hurtling end-over-end toward the car.  The Corolla performed an amazing emergency avoidance manoeuvre and the fire-log flew past.  Needless to say, I passed that pick-up as soon as I could.

Glad he's alright. Vehicles with precarious loads are more common than I would've liked.

'tis why sugar beet season and motorcycles don't mix.  Never felt sorry for the farmers 'round here losing the sugar beet market.

Glad your father is okay.

I replaced the cabin and engine filters for the Civic. Then did the same for my dad's Accord.
It's in a rougher shape that my Civic.  There are a lot of dings and scratches that need to be touched up.  He's going to get the interior detailed, too.

Washed, waxed the 3er. Also cleaned up the seats/carpet/interior properly.

Not bad for 231k.

Whenever I clean the interior, I'm reminded of all the stuff I've put back into the 3er, that was originally deleted for North America. Funny how I take Euro spec equipment for granted. The 2x 12v outlets in the rear vent console. The new steering wheel trim piece. The exterior mirrors.

Whoever gets the car next is gonna have a lot of Easter eggs.

The 20 year old with a flat brim hat that buys this is not going to care [emoji12]

Looks great!

Why would a Camaro owner buy this?
