Gave the Mini Cooper some attention today, new rear rotors & pads. Pain in the A$$ getting the old rotors off because of the torx screw holding the rotors on. Always strip easily, couldn't drill them out, in the end took the angle grinder to them. Oh & on top of that gotta nice afternoon shower, oh well done now.

Thx! It took about 2hrs longer than it should have in between the rain & a trip to CDN Tire for a new drill bit.

Are those legal to drive in AB?  Pretty sure here you'd get hauled off the road for no fenders.  That has to be one of the nicer looking rat rods, stance and everything is just right.  Love it!

I wonder if at registration time the owner was told to wash the car before the cruise? ;)

That rust is the right side muffler, the left side one was replaced before she bought the car & now that one is on it's way out & is rattling like crazy, wonder why

I read somewhere that their only purpose is to hold the disc on while the car is moving down the assembly line before the wheels are installed.

The screws on my old Civic were a real PITA to remove. Just a Phillips head on those, so very easy to round out the head. You pretty much had to use an impact driver. I didn't bother with the screws when installing the new rotors and had zero issues.

Yeah. Philips head on a retaining screw of the Toyota pickup i had. The truck as a whole struggled with rust, but that stupid screw really pissed me off. It wasn't re-installed when I changed the rear shoes/drums.

It is NOT legal here to drive without fenders. Many hot rod folks do. They have a set of fenders for initial inspection and then they "fall out" then "forget" to repair.

Ordered two each of cabin and engine air filters for the MDX from Rockauto. Hopefully those will be of same quality or better than the FRAM ones from CT.

Last Tuesday the kid took off in her Forester to Vancouver.  She left Vancouver today and drove to Vernon.  It's getting a lot of use now!!  She comes home on Wednesday with a couple stops on the way home planned.
