I am curious how that gasket looks/works - post some pics when you get it installed.

I am anxious to pull some of the cars outta the garage so I can use my lift to do a couple oil changes (Camaro SS & SLK) but the weather this weekend is terrible, so I've decided to just stay inside and work on work stuff...Then I'll skip a day during the week when the weather is better to play with the cars :D

I did pull the console apart in the Escalade again (2nd time) this morning to fix the cupholder lid that someone broke last week....

Here's a photo of the engine compartment of a VW Thing (not mine).
The thick, rubber gasket goes around the engine between the engine tin (black in colour) and the engine compartment (white in colour).
I went out before lunch and put the gasket in.  I had to start at one end and pry it into place with a flat edge tool.  Very slow going, but it's done.  :D
It was much easier with the car on the lift.  I set the car high enough on the lift so I could stand in the engine compartment and work on putting the gasket in place.

A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kickboxing.

Interesting setup. This might be silly, but why does that engine compartment need to be sealed anyway?

Weather sorta broke, at least it was dry, so I got some work done on the Camaro SS. Finished touching up stone chips, oil change, fresh air filter and a little more engine bay detailing.
Then I decided to take some decent pics of it, since I only had a few cell phone quality units...that became taking photos with Mrs.Firm...which became pulling the other F-bodies out to get a few group shots. I am 100% certain that if the neighbours didn't think we were insane before this has confirmed it for them...

You're just the neighbourhood car guy, don't worry about it. If they didn't think so before they do now   :D

Yeah, I don't think the neighbors think you're insane, they're probably hunting the net for those pics.

Spend a few hours detailing the S2000 today.  Washed it first, then clay bar, then a layer of Poor Boys polish followed by a final layer of Poor Boys sealant wax.  I'll do the interior tomorrow.  Drinking beer now after a nice drive.   :)

It was still raining in the early morning and was overcast when i started around 10:30, but the sun came out and was really nice within an hour.

I just realized that I've spent about twice as much time cleaning it as i have driving it thus far this season.  :P
