Drive the Porsche for the 1st time in almost 2 weeks! Used it to get out to the golf course, it sure loves the cold dense air this time of year :D

I've had my winters on for a week.  Now, the Winnipeg forecast is calling for double-digit temps until Monday.   ::)

Let the T/A stretch it's legs after sitting for a couple of weeks. Noticed that the rear hatch was rattling a bit, so when I got home I took a look and found that the rubber bump stops were sorta worn down. Extended them out a bit and problem solved :)
While tinkering I finally tracked down a dash rattle that'd be bugging me for awhile too....Bolt for one of the main dashboard mounts was missing. Found a new one and solved another issue :) Not bad for about 45 minutes worth of work.

No salt down yet....haven't had a flake of snow yet either :)

Notice that it's still on summer tires.....I don't have the heart to drive it through another winter. Last year I *needed* it because I had nothing else to drive. Now we've got the 'Slade and the other Firebird, so we should be fine without this one. I will keep it insured/plated and ready to go should :censor: hit the fan with one of the other two....

Every time I see that stupid T/A...I want to go look for a stupid T/A... :P  But, the car hunting season is coming to a close. Probably a good thing, I'd have nowhere to park a toy.

washed and "quick detailer'ed" my bimmer over the weekend.

yesterday, on my brother's 06 civic,
changed rear discs, pads, bled the fluid, changed oil/filter, spark plug and air filter.   he's not big on maintenance, which is why he's sticking with the old civic, but man...   never seen blacker brake fluid coming out of caliper. rear passenger caliper was almost seized, but impact driver did its thing and loosened it up, but if it were me, i would change the caliper...  hopefully the caliper works for next little while.

ordered all parts(except engine oil and filter) on rock auto, but they sent me  front pads instead rear so had to get some rear pads from local Part Source.   $45 for rear pads.  fack.

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

It is a nice day around here so I put my winter wheels on. With a shop-style jack, electric impact wrench, torque wrench, wheels in all 4 corners and and assortments of other useful things my driveway looked like a pit stop for half an hour  8)
Everything went smooth. I cannot overestimate the convenience of having a dedicated set of winter alloys and tires. With X-ICE3 the car goes quieter over asphalt joints than with all-seasons, feels kind of more luxurious.

Triumph TR8 - V8 engine sounds at idle

Did some work on the TR8 over the weekend. So far I've got the wipers, headlights (mostly - one still doesn't pop up), and heater fan working. Just cleaning grounds and switches so far. I think the horn relay might need replacing as the horn itself works but not via the button. I need to get the signal lights working plus bleed the brakes.

Having a trunk mounted battery is quite convenient for testing the rear lights - less so for a horn.

Another final "final" drive of year - pic is actually from 2 weeks ago when I went for what I thought would be the last drive of the year, but couldn't resist another sunny 17degC day so a nice jaunt around the country lanes was callled for...

I love the TR6 - for me it beats MGB's, Midgets, and Spifires in the looks department.

The TR6 is a masterful styling update on the TR4/5 - looks like a new car the but centre section is shared. The TR6 has a great engine noise too - beefy straight six. I test drove one before getting my TR8. Lovely car (wife hated it but oddly thinks the TR8 is ok).

Rolled past 200k in Robeson County, on the A74. Snapped pic as I was stuck behind a MDX camping in the overtaking lane......

Pretty average, 20k per year.

Just hit 30k on the Mazda6 today, 2 years old this week.
