My mechanic swapped the summers for the winters.  Before doing that, he had to change one of the studs, as the nut had been cross-threaded (probably with an impact wrench) by some moron before I owned the car.  The nut was no longer threading on the stud.

In order to do that, and because of the length of the stud, he had to remove the very rusted and seized wheel bearing assembly and bolts.  There was much cursing for 90 minutes.  He was handsomely rewarded with a case of beer, braised brisket and homemade chocolate chip cookies.  And some other stuff.   ;D

Argh, it's likely another ignition coil that went bad.  Hopefully I can get my reader to work to figure out which one it is.

Had to borrow a friend's Bluetooth adapter because mine wouldn't connect to the ECU.

Misfire on the 6th cylinder.

$60 and 20 minutes later we're back up and running.  I'm beginning to think that I should just replace all of the Motorcraft labeled coils.

I've done three so far and my dad did two, but he can't remember which ones were done.

I have a '72 mustang and just had to replace the power steering fluid, but ended up over-filling it and needed to drain with a turkey baster lol

Can you talk to my wife?  I am getting totally screwed.  Just finished oil changes and cleaning both vehicles inside and out.  Made supper everyday this week, and we are out of beer!  She made sugar cookies for the kids (kids don't know any better).  As for the other stuff, :-(

Me neither until I got the truck ('01 F-150).  It's a common problem on the 4.6 and 5.4 V8's.

Well if my father in law offers to sell me his 2011 or 2012 F-150 (5.4 V8) I will think twice.  Has said anything, but the usually keep vehicles 8 years.

I don't think the newer trucks are as much an issue if at all compared to the older ones.  I know in '08 was when they apparently fixed the spark plug problem.  My bro has a '99 5.4 and the dealer offered to replace his engine to the tune of $6000ish because of rough running etc....you'd think they'd know better.  He thought the truck was shot, but it still ran so he drove it like that for a few months.  But sparingly.  Took it to one of the local indie's who used to work at the Ford dealer, and $200+/- later he was up and running with a "brand new" truck.  As you said, common problem. Jeez, makes you wonder how many people the dealer screwed out on a total rebuild when all it needed was a $60 part and an hour of labour.

It's only an hour if you include the time it takes to enjoy a beer after a job well done*.

I put the winter's on the Tundra today.  Rear brakes are nearing end of life, so I'll plan to do those soon.  Front's have a lot of life in them yet.  Truck has 130,000km.

Winter's will be going on the MDX tomorrow.

Out of beer?  How does that happen?  My wife and I were going over a CC statement today, the items for the liquor store, she said, 'well those are essentials anyway'

Helped the kid wash his car.  Then washed the puddle jumper with the left overs in the pail ('cause who cares)...then washed my car, clay barred a summer's worth of black crap off it, and waxed it and vacuumed it.  Still pretty.

Yesterday I washed the Escalade and took the Firebird for a Krown treatment. Today I washed and detailed the Sonoma, then wrapped it up in the garage for winter....end of another season :(
