Those backup sensors can be expensive too.....Saw a Ford unit listed the other day for like $300.

John, that sucks man....I don't want to think about snow and ice yet. I did the winter tires on the red Firebird last weekend, just because it was a nice day and I had some time. Car hasn't moved from the garage since anyway  ::)
I need to decide whether I am going to bother to swap the wheels on the Trans Am (new performance all-seasons vs. very old and worn winters) or just park it when the roads are nasty....leaning towards the latter.

Snow lol.   Rode my bike another 150km yesterday and I think I'll ride to work tomorrow.

Yes they are pricey, which is why I am just trying to disable them.  First time I have a vehicle equipped with them, so I know I will be fine without them.  I will have to check the Hyundai/kia forums if removing them doesn't stop the beeping.

Drove the truck this morning.

Noticed it wasn't driving quite right.  A bit of a shudder.

BAM - CEL goes on.

Argh, it's likely another ignition coil that went bad.  Hopefully I can get my reader to work to figure out which one it is.

Phone up the rental company and find out what the buy out cost is
Hot water should last about 20 years

Depending on where you live and water quality.  In our former residence we had a water heater develop a leak after 6 years and 3 months (guess what the warranty period was).  I spoke to the plumber installing the new one and he said in our area 6 years was the general life expectancy.

True

I will shop around.  Because I don't just want to buy it out, I want it turned the other way.  So we will see who has the best price.  I am quite happy with the water in Burlington.

Pilot light on the water heater went out again.  Called Reliance this morning.  I am eligible to have it replaced for free.  Coming tomorrow between 1-5 to replace.  Asked how much to buy the existing 6 year unit out, $380 plus tax, no thanks!

Checked the cost of an equivalent model (regular 50 gal), about $850 with a 9 year warranty, lowes wants $275 to install.  Not sure we will be here 5 years longer to make it worth it...

have the wheels/tires on the wrangler... definitely not as sexy as the ones i run in the summer... but it's worth it... worst case, i take em off and sell the set on kijiji... i'll do fine.

oh, also forgot... got a speeding ticket yesterday....... like a minute from my house. 13 over in a school zone... did it at 10 over for me...

but still... downhill, right past a bike/pedestrian cross that i adjust speed to try and not affect people crossing there. also, i was a bit upset with my wife.... i just needed to run and grab some ground beef she forgot to pick up earlier, so i was going to hop in the pacer and do a quick 5 minute trip... she insisted i take my daughter for the trip, so i had to take her car and get my little lady all dressed and ready to go... my fun 5 minute trip turned into a 40 minute jaunt!
i used to be addicted to soap, but i'm clean now

Your wife views it as 40 minutes off alone time for her.  Sucks buddy.  Keep your chin up!

oh, i still loved the time with her... even while pulled over, i was "hiding" and playing with her... and my son was still home.. i would have understood it more if i took em both!

but meh... i think he expected me to complain... i thanked the officer and told him to keep up the good work... my kids will be walking that route to school, so i want it safe from goofs like me!! heh... just a 40 dollar ticket as well, so lesson learned.

didn't realize until the cop left, but i went to college with him... tried to look him up on facebook after, but couldn't find him... i guess cops probably try to keep their lives a bit more private!

Not quite.  You're auto insurance will increase 25% for the next 3 years.  No justification whatsoever, but it's allowed and tolerated by all three political parties in Ontario.

A few years ago, insurance companies would offer 2 moving minor violation "forgiveness"  in any 3 year period because they realized most tickets issued by the cops are for government revenue purposes.  That's completely gone now.

Still waiting for mine to increase, ,after an accident, then a speeding ticket, then running a stop sign, all within 3 years....  Still pay less than $1200 for the two of us, on both vehicles.... If anything its gone down!

In your dreams.  :)

Believe what you want.  When we sold the 2005 Honda Odyssey LX, and got a 2008 Hyundai Entourage Limited (worth more money), the insurance dropped.  The Mazda6 is now 2 years old, and the insurance dropped on it too.

You shouldn't need it.  They have accident forgiveness.  And when Holly got a ticket, the insurance guy said no increase because no points, as it was dropped down to 10km/h over the speed limit.  As for me, the only thing I have is the stop sign.  No points on my record, hasn't gone up...

And Koreans cars are much cheaper to insure!

A stop sign carries a mandatory 3 points, but for you no points. You applied in person for a record check?   :rofl2:

Had to fix something on the Mazda 2! The rear defroster stopped working. A wire had come unplugged so I plugged it back in. Job done.  :rofl2:
