I'm just browsing the net today, looking for some new summer tires. Will be buying them in April.

Took my 3er in for a "pre warranty expiration" appointment.  I had a weird squealing noise coming from the dash whenever I turn left, they are going to replace some kind of motor in the HVAC under warranty, along with some suspension bits (that's the technical term, I know  :rofl2:).  Out of pocket, I did a brake service as they are rusty and sticking and wouldn't likely pass MVI.  Did MVI while I was there.  Taking her back in next Tuesday for the warranty work as parts were not on hand.

Would you believe I got 2km from the dealer and got a completely flat tire, and had to flatbed it back to get it plugged? Completely annoying during a busy day.

Finally, would you believe the dealer wants to charge $129+shop+HST for a winter tire changeover (not mounted on rims).  Yikes, I will get a local shop to do that next month.

I dunno, $130 seems a bit much but not totally out of line.

...it's at a "premium car" dealer, what did you expect?  here, even honda charges $110 minimum per hour.

last time i went to bimmer dealership, it was close to $150 an hour for any actual labor.

Just change them yourself if you do not like the price
It should take less than a  hour

They're not on rims airb. I'd be impressed watching you change that in an hour at home :stick:

I also wonder about the "shop charge" to change wheels... as if those costs aren't already cooked into the labour rate.

Oh, the price is fine with me....I have plenty of options that are at least $40 cheaper....but wow, the folks who don't pay any attention to these things are getting hosed.

I changed my own back in the day when I had snows mounted on steel rims.....but with kids and two cars to look after, I can't be bothered. I'd be financially better off putting in another hour or two at work instead.

I just paid $38 to have a flat fixed on the GTI's summers. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a screw in the middle of the tread. And they didn't even have to jack up the car - I carried the wheel in and then carried it out again.

I had a tire plugged on the CrossTrek for free at KalTire. I dropped the tire off in the morning, picked it up in the afternoon and expected to pay $30, but the counter guy just said "It's on the house. Just keep us in mind the next time you need tires."

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Yeah, I thought it was a bit excessive too.

I had a flat "repaired" three times last year at three different places. Can't remember what I paid at each, but if it was a nickle it was too much.  >:(

The $38 will be well worth it if they did a proper job (seems good so far.)

I think patching a tire costs 20-30$ at whatever the closest garage is. Luckily that has been rare for me (yay for NC; roads in SC are littered with everything)

Did my first oil change on the LS. The entire underside of the car has flat air deflection panels on it. Looked like I had to take everything off to get the filter. But in typical Lexus fashion, there was a nice flip down door for access. Filled up with Amsoil's best!

Next is the rear diff fluid.

And after that I'll be tackling putting the suspension back perfectly to factory ride height.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

On a FWD car, the diff fluid is done at the same time when the transmission fluid is changed correct?

When you lowered the suspension before, how was this done?

Rrockets car has air suspension, so probably some solenoid or programming would change ride heights
