Took it in for its annual oil change, overall inspection, and had front wipers replaced - all included in the 5-year maintenance plan.  Brakes and tires still have lots of life in 'em.  ;)
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

Had to make some ramps to raise one end of the Wrangler up about 3" due to the slope of the garage floor. Then I changed the factory fill in the manual transmission and the front and rear differential fluid. Next up is the transfer case fluid, maybe next weekend.

Had to make some ramps to raise one end of the Wrangler up about 3" due to the slope of the garage floor. Then I changed the factory fill in the manual transmission and the front and rear differential fluid. Next up is the transfer case fluid, maybe next weekend.

I forgot to mention, I had forgotten how bad used differential fluid smells. The magnet on the rear drain plug had quite a bit of fine material and the fluid was quite black, the front not so much on either. The interval on these factory fills was 10,265 KM. My son walked into the garage mid-way through the rear differential change:

Son: "Daddy I smell something bad like dog poo"
Me: "Nope son, that's just used differential fluid. I'm doing the rear differential. The used fluid stinks. Should I change the front differential next or the transmission fluid"
Son: "Dad, do the transmission"

Transmission fluid looked fine, a bit of material on the drain plug magnet, and there was some glitter at the bottom of the drain pan.

Also, I'm getting old, my legs and back are sore this morning and I've got bruising on my back/shoulders from the creeper. For some reason I had a bloody nose when I woke up although I didn't get any fluid up it nor did I hit it, unless I got hit so hard I forgot about it. Humidity in the house is 42%, my nosebleeds usually auto-magically happen down near 20%. Maybe someone hit me when we were asleep...

I cut back the rot, used fibreglass fabric to patch the holes, copious amounts of bondo and sanding.  It's not perfect, but looks much better than it did that's for sure.  I was impressed how well the colour matched, had a bodyshop supply place mix me a couple rattle cans from the code.

Maybe it's because you can't work on your own lawn.

Having a nice yard is important to me and you would know how much effort I put into my lawn when I lived in Sudbury. But because I have other higher priorities now I would rather contract that out so I can focus on them.
