Vacuumed the van on Saturday, started the van to switch the cars around.  Fuel light was on.  605 km on the trip odometer, 70.5L to fill!  around 11.6L/100km, but man I hate when she does that!  Sunday I spent 5 hours cleaning the garage.  Reclocated the OEM wheels & tires that came with the Mazda, so 8 wheels/tires fits ok in there now.  Loaded stuff in the van to take to the dump tomorrow.  Now that I think about it, I shouldn't have vacuumed it like some crazy detailer!  ;D

Feels nice though, I could park in there, if I didn't have two strollers, and two lawn mowers.

Friday was a long overdue day of TLC for the Forester.  Washed and waxed the outside.  The inside got vacuumed, got salt stains out of the carpet, steam cleaned the carpets, seats, and floor mats.

Yelled at Crosstrek driving in TO over the weekend so needed to kiss & make up.
So, washed it, clay barred it and applied Menzerna Power Lock (awesome product). Never looked better.

I am getting very itchy for my funmobile....

Back in the office today from a few days vacation :(
Mostly landscaping all week. But I did put a coat of wax (Mequires Techwax 2.0 - very good for a synthetic) on the Firebird and treated the leather on the SLK.

I also got a couple things done on the T/A, new front brakes, replaced the seat belt receivers and replaced the cracked dash pad....Saggy headliner aside, it's now at a point where I am less embarassed to be seen with it, so I took it to it's first car show with Mrs. Firm:

Had some small dents and had some water sanding/buffing done on the Grand Cherokee. Wife likes the vehicle to looks good and gets irked seeing more than two door dings on the vehicle.

No matter how far we park from the main parking spots it seems some idiot seems to smack our car door or bumper corners. I tend to get these little touch ups done locally by a place I've use 4 times now that specialize in this. Cash cost is moderate takes less than 2 hours and I have to provide some touch up paint.

Took the Tesla Model S to Wasaga, charging at Barrie supercharger on the way back.  Was one of 5 cars charging, added 300km of range while talking to some folks who road tripped from NC USA, they've been on the road for a few weeks travelling around NE USA.

How long does it take to get a full charge?

When I charge to 100%, I am usually eating a meal, or sleeping.  The in-car Tesla charging page (on the 17" touch screen UI) has a slider to choose the maximum charging level, and it guides that 50-90% charge level is the regular amount, while 100% is labelled "trip", meaning, you only would charge to 100% when you need to take a trip.

That said, car was half charged yesterday afternoon, so I put it on the plug before dinner and scheduled the charge to start at 2AM (when electricity is cheap in Ontario and we sell it for a loss).  When I woke up, car was 90% charged as I had selected, and then I used my phone to enable charging to max (100%), which took an extra hour while I was eating Cheerios.   That last 10% is charged much slower on purpose, as this lengthens the life of the battery.  Still, car was drawing 32A/240V for that full hour!

On our trip home from the beach trip today, we came into Barrie supercharging station with 100 km of range remaining, and left with 380 km of range.  That car charged at over 400km of range per hour of charge, so 280 km of range took around 40 minutes.  We didn't need the charge to make it home, we could have done the round trip from Toronto to Wasaga and back directly, but the charger was on the way, and why not use the facility when it's provided by Tesla right?

I've arrived at superchargers with < 10% remaining, and charged to 80% in 35 minutes, which is the sweet spot of charging, namely, arrive with a little bit of a buffer (40km of range) and charge to >350 km of range in just over half an hour.

Come to think of it, the Model S is the best road trip car, given there are superchargers along the route. Depending on the distance traveled, gas could amount to hundreds of dollars, while Tesla fuel is "free".

Tried the new trailer hitch and bike rack on the Forester today.  Everything worked great. It's a pretty solid mount into the hitch. Carrying 3 bikes, I'm  glad I got a class 3 with a 2" receiver.  The attachments for each bike are nicely padded, and are easily removed or adjusted for angle.

Hot morning for a ride, but a swim at my parent ' s felt great after!

I have the same Class III with 2" receiver.  When towing the pop up a couple of days ago, on some steep hills something was scraping.  I am wondering if that was the threads of the ball on the pavement.
