Cool, what does that say on the caliper?

Same lugs but not my pic. His exposed brake pads say Raybestos.

Blur, that looks pretty intense. Pretty cool that you're tackling that yourself  8)
Thing look reasonably clean though, how many kms on that engine?

It's the original engine, I think about 250k or so.  It's what an engine running Mobil1 synthetic and regular changes looks like, I barely cleaned it.

Now, the replacement junk engine with half that mileage from Hotch's Auto parts, that's another story altogether.... and the reason the original engine is going back in.

Today was Royal Purple day.   3 quarts of Synchromesh .  Also installed the Steeda transmission mount bushing.  Had prior warning that the bushing probably would increase NVH.  What an understatement!  Couldn't wait to get it out and a real PIA to remove.

Pic of rear aluminum lower H arms which has finally brought the car into the 21st century.

Additionally, this car, as with most cars, aren't meant for road salt.  Pic is that of the transmission temp sensor.  Just look at the exposed wires.  10 years exposed to road salt .... I don't think so.  :P

Last pics are the stock Ford shifter bushing and a photo of the Steeda shifter bushing.  Forgot to take a pic before install and it is buried about the resonator and the drive shaft.

What I didn't do with the Escape Hybrid today is use it.  It's at a garage awaiting parts from back east. After all, why would Ford in Metro Vancouver, third largest populated area in Canada, stock refrigerant lines for the rear hvac unit?  Lines that cost about $1000 and although they're attached to the underbody, are vulnerable to bimetal corrosion.  And the hybrid system is dependent on a functioning a/c system.  Nice work, Ford.

Used the loaner, first-generation V6 Highlander.  270,000km on it.  Pleasant enough, leather interior is pretty worn, but seemed to be like new mechanically.  Odd to not have remote locking/unlocking.
And some cretins think I hate cars.

^^^ I would ask why the lines are not INSIDE the body

You sure the fob wasn't just missing? I can't imagine a non-base Highlander not having remote entry.

I thought so, too. Maybe it's used to cool the batteries? ???

I bet.  Always highly satisfying to harvest some cash out of a ticking time bomb and a tank at that.
