175,000 km service.  LOF, transmission and both diffs.  Also got them to re-instal one of the rear mudflaps I managed to rip off on the weekend  :-[

The Subaru? Interesting - I thought only trucks had grease fittings these days.

Just me and my old ways; have always called the regular service a LOF, even if all it really gets is the O and F part.

Did the heater core in the T/A and performed a thorough flush on the complete system. Total time 4hrs. Book time on this job is 8, but my skinny arms allowed me to get the core in and out without dropping the dash. Lots of cussing though. Glad I flushed the system cuz it was nasty.
Old heater core had been leaking a long time too, but not enough to be noticed, when I took it out one corner of it was all corroded.

Washed the Mazda again Friday.....I have learned my lesson. No more dark colours, lest the pollen and morning dew make the car dirty every 24h.  :surrend:.

Did a nice hike up to Black Balsam Knob (1900m) on foot, through the fog and drizzle. On the way down, I was reminded why I require rear foglights on my vehicles.

Then it all clearned out 2km later. I semi-hustled the Mazda down NC 215 with verve and gusto. Even the undercooked suspension and brakes couldn't stop me from enjoying the joy of driving  :drive:......sort of  . I guess as a driver, you learn to adapt to the equipment you have. Mazda nosedives and rolls heavily when asked to corner faster than 80km/h.  (Recorded it as well)

Trying to prep the race car.   Moved the pedals because I'm short.

Well then the car won't start because I have messed up idle.   Adjusting the idle was fun....

^ I bet.

I swapped the old dirty ripped original seats in the Trans Am out for a spare set of 4th gen grey cloth seats I had. Scrubbed all the carpet in the process. Car looks, smells and feels a lot more comfortable now.

Yes, I gotta do something about the seat belts...tomorrow.

What's with the padding on the lower front part of the passenger door?  Is that a knee rest and is it factory?  I've been in several TAs over the years and don't remember that.

I think it is just a storage bag

Yeah, it's a storage pouch type thing....kinda useful, I usually keep my wallet in there when I drive. No cup holders in this car is annoying though.

Well for the first time, I have finally washed the Mazda6 (myself)!   It only took 6 months for everything to fall into place: time, weather, and motivation.  Started at 9am, so I could wash the exterior in the shade.  That was the easy part.  Next came the interior, must have spent almost an hour around the driver area (salt stains around the floor).  Then the joy of removing the rear baby seats, vacuuming and wiping, and then reinstalling them....

Monday was oil and filter, and spark plugs on the Miata and the Forester.  I've forgotten how awkward it is to get at the oil filter on the Miata...
