Took the 135i for one last blast through the countryside before it'll go to a dealership as a trade-in. The car was pure joy to drive  :)

I wonder what the same service would cost in the GTA where there are several MB dealers. Probably the same. Shop rate is $144/hour and has been for the last year or so. Also wonder what 535 and A6 owners pay.

No doubt about, FGC ownership is expensive. I've noticed that a number of E Class owners on MB forums do their own oil changes.

The 535 owners pay nothing...the free maintenance package in the BMW definitely pays off. I had the extended one in my 3 series - 6 years or 100k in free maintenance - and was always happy to see my bills coming at free.

Thanks everyone. We'll take delivery of the 5er on Wednesday, if all goes to plan, and I'll try and post a couple of pics a bit later.

Put the summer tires on the Escape.  Grand Vitara's oem summer tires have some tread left, but since they're 8 years old it will be getting a new set.

Emptied out the back seat. Tipped the seat down, removed the luggage cover,  covered the back with a tarp.    Garden cleanup gang filled over 30 bags with stuff and the car holds 8 at a time. I'll be seeing a lot of the people at the dump today!

What will I do to the car tomorrow?   Vacuum out all the dead leaves and stuff.

I went to put the summers on and noticed a drywall screw right in the middle of the tread.  Ugh.

Bummer.  I have a bulge in one of my Winters, need to check if it's warrantied.

I had that once, no problems getting a new one.  It was shipped to me.  Think tire rack

Changed over to summer wheels / tires...now it needs a thorough cleaning, inside and out.

How are your Summer wheels dirty already?  Surely you clean them before putting them away?

I also did the changeover last night, cleaned my Winters before storing them.

Why?  They're just going to get dirty again.  Hell, I haven't even washed my car yet since I got it in November!  Ran it through the Touchless once when I couldn't see out the windows safely from all the grime.

I think I washed my car twice or maybe three times since I owned it. And the dealer washed it for me last week when I brought it in for service.

I have owned several cars that I never washed the outside of ... ever. Just not a washer/polisher I guess. Inside is different. In my price category you usually have to spend a couple hours cleaning it after purchase.
