Booked the Odyssey for next week. There's still a fackton of snow to melt, yes, but we have two other cars that will keep the winter rubber longer.

I Cleaned the wheels on my '98 Forester. I used a foam ball/drill and pre-wax cleaner but I have also used cut polish on badly corroded wheels. I put the cleaner in a small container to load the foam ball so as to avoid spray-off. Is it true that wax won't last long on wheels because they get hot? I could probably find a specialty product for that.

Black hoods get pretty hot too....I've never had a problem with wax not lasting on wheels. I usually wax a set of rims twice a year and that seems to keep them looking pretty good.

Changed side mirror actuator on the passenger side, but it looks like I will need to change the driver side as well.
I'm having fun working on my car by myself :)

Drove to Fort Erie and back to pickup a set of seats from the T/A, guy was parting out a whole car so I also grabbed the seat belts and sunvisors. I also finished repairs on the center console when I got home. Will post an update in the S&S soon with some pics.

Since I am going south today (New Jersey), I swapped my tires two days ago. And this morning I wish I hadn't done that.  >:( I saw no less than 5 (Five) multiple vehicle collisions on the Queensway this morning. Black ice, all-seasons and a bunch of idiots is a dangerous combo.

Changed the air filter on the 325i, and was reminded again why I hate CARB for the restrictive 2 filter system and detuned 3 litre motor.

You need to get the car smog tested down there? If not, someone must make a better airbox/filter/intake for that car.

Well, we all know that CARB pretty much dictates what automakers sell in the US and to a great extent, Canada. I can't believe I have to take the whole box out just to get to it. I'm not big on modifying cars, except with OEM parts to meet ECE lighting standards.

48/100 counties in North Carolina require annual emissions testing, so unless one really lives in the boonies, it is required to pass that, plus annual safety inspection for everyone, in order to renew registration. This is waived for the first 3 years of a new car purchase though.

(more info than you need to know, but it is all electronic, so thankfully we are free of stickers on the windshield and front licence plates. But if your shop doesnt enter your "Pass", you cannot renew at all, it's blocked. Diesel vehicles, are exempt from emissions)

Went to move the Spitfire on Saturday. Started, stalled and wouldn't restart. Spent hours diagnosing to eventually find that dirt had gotten sucked into the fuel bowl and clogged the pickup. Fixed that and then spent some time detailing it (since I wasn't going to get time for my originally intended project)

Sunday I re-installed the center console in the T/A and replaced the rear sway bar links Then I changed the oil in the Firebird and washed it.

Got a tire patched on the Altima.

Because the tires were bought by the dealership, they didn't have any road hazard warranty, meaning I had to pay out of pocket :(

Legacy wasn't idling as normal, so I replaced the air filter and had the injectors and throttle body cleaned. Terraclean.

Took out 2 spark plugs for inspection. Noticed little wear. They are NGK Iridium plugs which should last easily 100K.

Subaru dealer said that they were changed at 48K. Vehicle only has 75Km.

All season tire and wheel set is back on. +13 deg outside really helped to make up my mind. BTW it was a DIY with a torque wrench. Dealer using an impact is enough reason to not do it there IMO. I like them rotors straight and true.  :)

THe wife's Ford Expedition is leaking power steering fluid. Traced it down to a power steering cooler in front of the radiator. Really? A power steering cooler? Never heard of one before.
