-15k OCI on a Civic on dino? You sure?
I only get 9k on the TL and was about the same on the TSX. Its only a 4.4L capacity.
-MB oil change rates are still insane. Acura @ 9k is $60ish in the GTA. Mercedes Service A is $300-350 for about 16k for my experience.
-However I seem to have hit on a rather expensive to maintain car by Japanese standards with the TL. Costs are about the same vis a vis the GLK. The GLK will alternate between annual $300 and annual $400 services, with a $350 bill for trans fluid every 60k. The TL on the other hand will have, in a year, a $60 oil change, then a $250ish service that includes an annual diff fluid change, "Service B", and all that stuff. The diff fluid came for me at 18k, which was a nasty surprise and apparently normal for SHAWD. I think trans fluid comes at 100k for say $120 on Hondas. Overall its pretty close if you go by the book and dealer pricing.
-MB oil change DIY is extremely easy with an oil extractor. You can change the filter without getting under the car. So if you don't mind...its about $100 of oil + filters and whatnot each time. You can reset the computer with a secret button combination. I think if you go indie + DIY routes for the vanilla stuff the Merc might be cheaper because I'm not sure I'm willing to do the differential fluid anywhere other than the dealer.... so thats probably $130-150 a year that's sunk for sure.
-Honda/Acura filters are for sure much cheaper though. Like literally $5-10 vs $15-30. But this is small potatoes.
-MB should be Mobil 1 5W40. I think I have 18 liters of this stuff in the basement.
-I got the Mercedes wiper blades replacements for the CLK last time. Expensive at $75, but they are damn good blades. Last a while too. I managed to install them myself
-The GLK blades wore out finally after 25k of mostly winter driving. Debated OEM vs Bosch replacement blades at Canadian Tire. Took the chance on Bosch and I regret it. These things are already streaking after a week or two.
-Honda/Acura wiper blade inserts are $17 for the pair and last me a year easily. A pain to put them in but its quality stuff.
-The V60 has first 4 scheduled services (within 3 years or 64k) included.
Afterwards its probably fairly vanilla, any ACEA A5/B5 5W-30 will cut the mustard. The interval is 16k.
