I know the question wasn't for me, but I figured I'd throwin my 2cents...
Through my work I get to try a lot of different waxes/polishes. The right stuff to use is completely dependent on 2 factors; the condition of your paint and your goals/expectations. Quickly, here's some of my favorites:
Decent Paint, looking for ok shine, but more protection/longevity: NuFinish
Excellent paint, looking for really deep shine: AutoGylm HD wax
If you want to get into multi stage:
Decent paint, really deep shine: AutoGlym super resin polish (or Mother Cleaner Wax) and Auto Gylm HD...Swap AG HD for Nufinish if you want to trade off some shine for longevity
Shitty paint, really deep shine: Mequires Ultimate Compound (preferably on a high speed polisher - unless you enjoy tennis elbow), then the two above.
Those are just the few off the shelf products that I regularly use, there are plenty of great products out there. 3M has a professional line available at most automotive finish shops that is excellent.
I just got a bunch of new stuff to try (Zymol liquid cleaner wax, G3 Supergloss and some other randoms). I tried the G3 on my truck and it did a nice job, but the paint was excellent to start with and it's a light color, so it's hard to tell if it's actually doing much. I did find it a little greasier than I am used to.
