Dude...wazzup with the soiled door sills?

You would be apalled at the state that a co-worker of mine keeps his/her S2000.  I don't think it's been washed in months and the front wheels are so caked with brake dust they actually look like a totally different wheel than the back rims.  :o

Did anyone else find the roads particularly slick today?
I was all over the traction control and anti-lock!

The rain was a downpour, tarmac was cold (cloudy day), and combined with a heavy foot,  it was "interesting".   :-X

Still lusting after a Tesla (Ref : http://www.autos.ca/forum/index.php/topic,73893.msg1036837.html#msg1036837) and now there is rumour of the AWD performance version coming out.   8)

id din't find them slick, but others sure did... 4 accidents on the way home last night. one in the same place i had taken pictures of another accident in the "morons" thread... i had heard about the accident on the radio, but it was an hour previous... turns out it was a second one, JUST after the first got cleared out!
i used to be addicted to soap, but i'm clean now

Rushed my errands so I could get some time on the Spitfire as the weather feels like it's starting to turn. The Firebird had other plans and effectively spoiled my efforts. I noticed some water dripping from the rocker panel, as first I thought it was just dew run off, but it seemed to be coming from a weird place. So I pulled out a drain plug and -BAM- Tons of water came pouring out of the damn rocker!

So I spent most of Saturday tracking down the entry point and sealing it all up nicely. Entry point turned out to be in behind the front fender where the rocker panel and the firewall meet up. Water from the cowl area drains through here and someone at GM did a shoddy job with the seam sealer so it was getting into the rocker panel. Spraying the hose in that area would basically just run right out the rocker.

I've sealed it up and left the drain plugs out so the rocker can dry out real good. I am pretty confident I've got it solved, but haven't tested yet as I had to let the sealer dry.

Here's the water that came out:

Once I finished the Firebird I did get some time on Sunday to continue plugging away at the Spitfire. Fixed up some wiring for the front lights, cleaned the trunk up and installed 1 new side window waist seal...That seal alone took 2 hours of tedious struggling...1 more to go :(

Fresh oil, brake fluid and new rear rotors/pads. My mechanic was shocked that I was able to get 132,000 kms out of the original rears. I still have 50% on the fronts.

Lovingly washed the Miata - checked all fluids, tire pressures, etc.  Heading to the mountains for the rest of the week starting tomorrow morning - but have to leave the car at a trailhead for a few nights so I might take something else - the rodents can find their way into the Miata surprisingly easily.

I don't believe it.  I mean, as far as the weight goes.  But yea, I can machine any design any type of wheel you'd want with the 5 axis machines..

me too.   i'm just really surprised they haven't done it earlier.

for the weight, steel is much much stronger than steel, so it would make sense, weight wise...  they just would use much less...

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D
