drove it.  took it to lunch with 3 of my colleagues, and i have to say with 4 people on board, it feels quite a bit slower.

 :(

then came home and washed it.  i ordered touch up paint a while back, so i'll try to make the hood and front bumper look better.  too many paint chips.

had the pacer in the air for an oil change... the underside isn't actually as bad as i had feared. drivers floorpan pretty gone, but i can probably do something to patch that up... only issue will be attempting to prevent the water buildup that is happening there due to some leaks in the weatherstripping and such.

kid who changed the oil wants to buy it now.. called his mom and everything....
i used to be addicted to soap, but i'm clean now

Re: What did you do to your car today? touched up paint
« Reply #2766 on: June 22, 2014, 01:01:17 am »
yes.  for the first time ever.  i followed Ammo USA's instruction.

i did passenger side first.
originally looked like this.

car was already clean, so wet sanded and cleaned with alcohol.

put on some touch up paint.

marked all the area that was touched up.
looks like the car has acne..

.....the new paint is little darker than the original paint.   :-[ :-[

i'll wet sand again tomorrow to level then polish..

Slider pins look pooched. Was the cylinder seized too? (I wouldn't be surprised).

U r right. The film is kinda noticeable.

But a great looking car.

Have you ever mentioned what you got under the hood?  Sorry I can't seem to recall.

About 430 horsies.  More info here: http://www.autos.ca/forum/index.php/topic,82370.0.html

Scarecrow, I've seen you around Ottawa a few times - your car never fails to turn my head and make me turn down the stereo... :-)   kudos

I too have seen you around town here. I will give you a wave from my Alfa next time I see you. Gorgeous car, epic soundtrack.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Cylinder appears to be fine.  It compressed easily with the special tool.  The piston popped back out after pumping the brakes.

Just remember NOT to use Anti-seize on re-assembly.

drove Francesca for the first time in over a month and a half. She now is no longer gushing oil all over the place thanks to the new oil pan. Now to just wait to get the exhaust headers fixed and she will be right as rain.

Not driving her during those sunny days was killing me...

Dropped it off last night for some fresh oil and my second DSG fluid change.  I'm riding my bike back to work in my ass before payment.  :o At least its an idie shop vs the stealership so it could always be worse.
