Drove car around the neighbourhood ... It did not die. Far from conclusive, but encouraging.

Intermittent fuel problem might be electrical.  Relay, perhaps.

Why would someone with an Escape be on a car enthusiast site?  [/tongue in cheek]
I am enthusiastic with the thought of getting rid of the thing.  :rofl2:

Cursed the birds that shat on my nice clean WHITE car.    This Audi is the first car I have ever had where I cannot reach the centre of the roof while just standing on the ground.  Most annoying. Next time I'm at Home Depot I'll buy one of those two step stepladders...useful anyway for changing pot light bulbs.

On the Yaris I replaced the passenger side rear hub/integrated ABS sensor. Two warning lights gone, one more to go. Must be the FGC rubbing off on it...

Replaced my gas tank filler neck seal, great success,  no more leak at a full tank. 2 hours to drop the tank.

Intermittent fuel problem might be electrical.  Relay, perhaps.

I've also read of problems with wiring between relay and pump causing same problem.  I've not had any problems idling so its going to be hard to troubleshoot if its electrical

Is the pump making any noise?? If you floor the car does it stumble?

Took the seats out of the Odyssey, to give it a good vacuum, and finally put the Weathertechs I bought 2 months ago.

When it was time to put the seats back in, one of the captains chair wouldn't go in right.  So I pulled the lever to pull it out, one side unhooked, the other side doesn't unhook! So now I can't the damn thing out.  Have a feeling something is wrong with the cable, it's seized or something...

Did some actual work on the car today.

I have a high downforce side strake that was cracked and broken.  Got some fiberglass mesh and fixed that up.  Drilled some new holes and rivetted it back onto the body of the car.  Better than new!

Now that's I've done fiberglass for the first time i see it's pretty easy, looking at my car there are a few places I'd like to reinforce and fix up.

Is there enough clearance to stand on the rear tires?   Or, open a door, (if you like your cars pristine, put something to protect the surfaces) and stand on the threshold.
And some cretins think I hate cars.

Started working on installing sound deadener in the doors, but got stopped because it requires a T30 screwdriver to remove the inner door panels.

Got the T30 and removed the inner door panels.  I discovered the Escape already has a layer of foam as a water shield (instead of a sheet of plastic which I'm used to seeing), some white pillowy cushions, plus some hardened gunk spread on the metal.  I added a layer of that butyl/aluminum stuff.  I also removed the rear cargo area side panels and applied the stuff there.  And under the rear floor, in the tailgate, the front footwells, and up the firewall.  In addition, where the factory weatherstripping around the doors left off, I added some generic foam rubber tape.  Then had occasion to drive it.  It doesn't seem any quieter, but I'll test it with a decibel meter some time.

Then it got a nice wash using car soap (normally I use only water), and then 4 hours to do an old-fashioned wax job with Turtle wax. Black cars look better in the shade.

Here's the first one John has shared so far.  Should be more to come.

The HDR treatment kinda emphasizes the 3M stone chip film on the nose, though...

U r right. The film is kinda noticeable.

But a great looking car.

Have you ever mentioned what you got under the hood?  Sorry I can't seem to recall.

Got it treated with Krown again, second time in six months.  Originally got it done in January for some protection against winter.  The product does flow much better in warmer temps and is more effective if applied in June-September range.

If you're a caa member may or June is the best time as discounts apply.
