What did you do to your car today?

Not mine, but my Dad's '05 Titan.  Front hub assembly (bearing toast)and exhaust.  First pick is with front hub removed.  Second is with new assembly installed and exhaust work beginning.  A solid day, a few bevies, a cuss word here and there and all done.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

130k.  It's one thing after another with it since 75k.  It's a POS.  When someone asks my dad how it is, he says it was good for about the first 5 miles  :rofl2:.  The suspension and driveline components look Mickey Mouse next to my tundra. Diffs, axle seals, bearings, exhaust including manifolds are all junk.

I'm sure Wing would have a few things to add also.  I'm sure you know all about them too.

Changed both rear shocks on mine at 100k and lost wheel bearing as well at 110k. Exhaust was done and completely replaced at 90k, diff blew up at 85.  Manifold was going when I traded it in.

So yours sounds identical lol

Have a friend with a similar tale of woe for his Frontier.  He blames the French.

Started the day doing some ghetto bodywork on a friend's old Maxima - turned out better than I initially thought, so that's good.

Then I spent about a 1/2 day messing with the Spitfire. Got another panel buffed out and thoroughly cleaned the interior. Also got most of the exterior lights working.

drove Francesca hard yesterday, perfect day for it. She sang and growled as I threw her around some back roads...glorious. Discovered I need to change the slave cylinder soon, however, as the clutch felt spongy at one point, and fell to the floor. Good thing parts are easy to come by for this 17 year old car...not. :rofl2:

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Changed the oil on the Expedition. Not too bad to do. Takes 6.6L of the stuff.

Got a dipstick for the Q5 and fitted it.   Amazingly it agrees with the fancy-schmancy oil quantity sensor.

I guess one must be grateful that the Q5 has a dipstick tube unlike the BMWs and I am sure that the oil quantity sensor uses the very best FGC electronics to sense with.   ::)

It seem to me they have 2 extra "free" space available on the left to accommodate more digits on that pump display, isn't it?  :-X

I repaired a gas leak in my Cobra.

I'll let the gasket sealant cure for the next few days and, with luck, I'll have no more worries for a (long) while.  :D
