Nice Update :) Personally, I actually prefer the looks of the older one, but I am sure the newer one is better in many ways.

Nice! Love the colour - Looks dark blue in the pic, or is it black?

Incidentally, I've seen a bunch of the 2015s now and really don't care for them.

It's dark blue. I love the 2015's, there's a white Yukon down the road that looks amazing. I also spotted a black LTZ sub and must say they look way better on person.

The old style Sub had way more room behind the third row (or so it seems) and the digital climate controls on this model are nowhere near as easy to use as the old truck. Plus the display is dinky. And I turn the rear wiper on every time I go to set the cruise, GM's had the same cruise/wiper/signal stalk for decades, this one looks the same, but has wiper control where cruise should be. Other than that this newer Yukon is pretty sweet!

I agree the climate controls are ridiculous: buttons too small and too low on the panel. You'll get used to the cruise/wiper control. I remember doing the same for the first month!

Love the dark blue! Had an '07 Suburban that colour. Replaced it with an '11 Yukon XL, but AFAIK the dark blue wasn't available that year. Interesting that they brought it back for '12.

Ok you've got me scared now. Either this things carbon black or blue. Trouble is there was no code for blue for 2012 or 2011 on the net. Looking for the paint code tab on the door jamb and it's gone. WTH? Maybe been repainted? I did notice the door mouldings were off colour as well. Maybe this is why I got a good deal.

One other thing strikes me strange, this truck is an SLT with leather but it's not heated?! In the old model heat came with leather.

From the States, maybe?  ???

Our 2011 is an SLT and has heated leather. Heater controls are on the door panel by the handle.

Cleaned the last blobs of tree resin off the car...and missed one in the middle of the sunroof.  Curses!  If I don't park under the sap tree I have to park under the birdshit tree.

Then decided to ready the lawnmower... bought gas. Put some in. Would not start.

Decided to check the plug.  After abortive hunt for socket realized that I had not removed a spark plug since sometime before summer 1987. 1 9 8 7.  Anyway found a long 3/4  ( why aren't plugs 19mm? ) and the plug was clean.  Thought I might check if the carb ( last time I serviced a carb was an SU on a 1971  1 9 7 1 MGB in the UK in 1973.)  was gummed up from sitting for a year**.  Probably is so I gave up. for now.  Watched Youtube about servicing Honda lawn mower engines.   Decided that the local small engine shop can get it to do on Tuesday...I'd probably have to renovate the garage just to get a clean flat workspace to do the cleaning.

I realized that I have lost a lot of the capability and patience for this sort of work over the last 30+ years and I guess this is why I like new cars, with long warranties and good dealers.  :'( :-[ :(

** Lawn mower is the first 4 stroke small gas engine I have ever owned...had I but known it wasn't going to be used all of 2013 I would have put gas stabilizer it there.

Had this problem on my spare mower.  I put in gas, checked the oil, pushed the choke button 3 times, pulled the cord 3 times and thing.  Checked the sparkplug, even tried another one, nothing.  Used this trick I learned from a friend.  Sprayed a bit of Canadian Tire Storage Fluid, around the spark plug, and the air filter area.  Started on 2nd pull, bit of white smoke for 5 secs, and works fine...

;D It's my wife's worst favorite day...her truck is clean, but I'm outside for hours doing it. Gots to be done girl...and no one else will do it (& I won't let them).

How could it be her worst favourite day
Clean truck and you are gone all day, it has to be a win win for her  :rofl2:

Put new rotors/pads and caliper on the front of the GS.  Rear is next.

Ordered new floor mats, Amsoil and a hood prop holder for the IS300.

Where do you order Amsoil from?  For delivery to Canada or US?
Don't fight it.  The sooner you get it the better.

ABS and ((!)) light on in the Yaris again. Last time this happened was I think around NOV-2010. Took apart the rear ABS sensors, cleaned & greased them, re-installed but no-go. Looks like some parts will have to be purchased...

Delivery in Canada!  I got some from Rrocket this week.  Took 2 days from the time I text messaged him till it was at my door!

This weekend, we washed, clay bar'd, and sealed both miatas. Since I'm lazy, we used super quick methods for 'clay barring' and sealing.

Nanoskin Autoscrub Speedy Prep Sponge:

Blackfire Crystal Seal

Also, before sealing the Baby Miata, removed a certain amount of swirls with a random orbital. Not perfect - some scratches are left and it's an older car that's not pristine. So I wasn't looking for perfection (and didn't want to remove too much clear coat either), but I still wanted a nice shine/ pop.

Used Blackfire SRC Compound. I really like the Blackfire products. We did the GTI last week and even after a week of use (and rain), the paint still looks glossy & pops. Plus, it's easy to use (breaks down easily with the random orbital).

Then we took a nice drive with the baby miata and went for a 'picnic' at a local conservation area near our house. It felt great.

The Baby Miata still has her hardtop and winter wheels/tires on. Will change those next week.

...

Lol. That is not "lazy!"

Lazy is buying a jar of wax at Canadian Tire in anticipation of your new 2010 GTI arriving at the dealership, then having that same jar of wax still sitting, unopened, on the shelf in your garage in May 2014.  :-[

So good job!

I agree, looks great.  I feel so guilty when I see the brown rail specs on the white Mazda5.  But I just can't find anytime to do it.  Couldn't finish my lawns today, because it started raining! It rained Monday to Thursday, so I cut 5 lawns on Friday. On Saturday I was only able to cut 3, when the lawnmower broke (the cord), used the spare today to do another 4, and it started to rain! Hopefully will be able to finish the last 4 on my list tomorrow!

Then I can use all the stuff thats in the basement that Canuck2k told me to get.

Washed, clayed, polished, vacuumed the truck.  Damn that's a LOT of real estate to cover...I'm tired...probably close to 5 hrs in total.  Don't know how Canuck does it and makes money.  Noticed the awful job they did on the hail damage from last year.  Didn't see it then, but I also didn't wax the hood last year with the fresh new paint on it.  You can see every, and I mean EVERY dent they "fixed".  Dent's are gone, but it looks like they hit it with some 180 paper, filled it, 180'd it again (or maybe a palm full of gravel, I dunno), painted it, and cleared the whole hood.  Guess they've never heard of feathering it out?  I dunno...been 20+ years since I painted a car, but I'm pretty sure this is not what it's supposed to look like.  Roof is all orange peely in the middle/front too.  I can get that, it's hard to reach on a good day, who'll notice but me?  But the hood? Hmmm............go back, or wait 3 more years and just turn it in as is...

Vans are even worse to vacuum compared to trucks.

Over the last 2 days, both cars got a quick under hood wash, then washed the outside. Rainx'd the windows on the Subaru. They look soooo kuch better now!

Clay bar the tree sap off the rear panel.  Added more oil and washer fluid.
