Got a quote to fix the little bit of rust bubbles that are starting to show on the car...$1400.   :o  Uhm...nope.  If it gets bad, maybe I'll just sand it out, glass it, and plasti-dip my ride. It's in a tight spot...like this but nowhere near this ugly yet, just a couple tiny bubbles in the paint and wee little orange spots like a zit through the paint.  But it's always behind the drivers side rear door.  Both my Taurus' did the same thing. Seems to be a Ford weak spot.

It's the tri-colour which apparently makes it a lot worse to fix.

Wonder how long it will take to get that ugly though.

Crikey that's not just  a little rust. Bubbles like that mean holes. Rusting from inside out. If that car was Krowned or Rust Checked it probably wouldn't look like that. That 's not the Fusion . I thought it was white? Post  a pic of the area.

read his post more carefully "like this but nowhere near this ugly yet"
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

I had a bit - just of bit - of rust that started at the rearmost end of the driver's rocker panel on the Odyssey. It's a bad stop to have rust, so I had that repaired at the dealership's body shop for 450$, perfect job, invisible.

Yeah I figured it out . Which is why i said post a picture of the area. The other picture is of the taurus i think.
Also 8 years of Krown is cheaper than 1400 dollars.

Not sure there is such a thing as a place that does Krown in MB.  Never heard of such 'til I got on here.  ON cars have always been known as the "don't ever buy from" province, it's like you people guys drive in the ocean or something.

I'll post a pic as soon as I can get a good one.  Was going to yesterday, then promptly forgot.

There is one in Winnipeg. https://www.krown.com/en/locations/canada/manitoba/winnipeg/
Too late for your car though. It's already too far gone. ;D just kidding.
Personally I can't stand any sign of rust on my vehicles. Even on my 20 year POS frontier.

^Yep. Actually, I tried 'Rust Check' vs. Krown the other day and I am a convert now....Krown is still great, but if there's a Rust Check in your area I'd go there instead - will update my other thread with some notes.

If it gets bad, maybe I'll just sand it out, glass it, and plasti-dip my ride.

That the only recourse.  That car is fooked.

Quick detail of the Miata's interior and put up the top.  The top will now stay up until the Miata is back on the road next spring.

Good thing it's not my car.  Just needed a pic of the affected area, was as good as I could find.  That'll be it in a couple of years though, if not sooner.

And if I dipped it, you think this would look good on a Fusion?  ;D

That's pretty creative for a plasti-dipped paint job.

I still wonder what is best way to have the top while it's parked for the winter.
The first winter I had top up and latched,  last year I had the top up but unlatched,  my thinking that it may stretch too much if latched and untouched for 3-4 months.
Probably a case of me over thinking things as I tend to do...

In my experience, tops shrink when they age, so I like to store them up and latched.

Yeah side times. Trying to drive the Maro a ton this week because I think I'll put her away next week. I feel like a lot of guys are doing the same thing. Saw like 3 different GT350s driving around hard this week.
yep, doin the same in the Alfa. Driving it a ton, finding any excuse to get on the road as she goes away right after Halloween

I just booked tomorrow off to get in another road trip in the roadster before it gets too cold.  We had some flurries this morning and it's supposed to rain all weekend.   The cold weather seems too early this year.

Yeah... I shut it down early December last year.
Our weather has turned to full-on suck, so who knows this year.  We've gone from late summer directly to November weather here.

I've got everything put away except for the Firebirds....I'll run the T/A until the salt is down, and I'll keep the red one 'operational' just in case one of the Caddy's goes down and we need a backup.

I know next weekend here in Ottawa it's supposed to be 10ºC, so I'm not gonna put the 951 away right yet... plus the turbo loves this cold dense air  :skid:  ;D

Also, I like to be the last one into the barn, so I can be the first one out in the spring  ;D  Put the boat away in the barn over 3 weeks ago now though, so it's nice to have the garage space for the 951  ;D

I know it's already been asked but what's a CD player?  ;D Is it a camera that'll only take pictures in portrait orientation?

It's a device rapidly going the way of the cassette player.

When my parents saw my Peugeot......."Oh, there's no CD player ? What are we doing to do with all our classical music CDs ? "
"Put them on a USB stick......"

On a related topic, does anyone actually use SD cards as a medium for playing music ? I find it stupid that my mother's Audi A3 has no USB playing slot (charge only) but has a SD card slot for media.
