Took the car to the new indie today to replace my AC compressor. I bought a rebuilt compressor from a place in the US as the warranty was the same (1 year) whether I bought a new Denso or a rebuild of a Denso. They even had my special compressor in stock. $110!

Anyways, he put the compressor in, which isn't hard but not easy either (it's tight in there and comes out the bottom). He also blew out the system then recharged with 2lbs of refrigerant. Total cost? $200!

He also reported my Y pipe has a small lean caused by the clamp strap wearing through the pipe. Will order one tonight.

Great, great guy! So pleased to have found an honest, reasonable, skilled mechanic

Wasn’t a roadster type of day, so the Acura got some loving. Clay bar treatment, then a 2 stage polish, followed by wax job. Just a few hours on a Saturday. Did it at the shop. So nice to be able to use the hoist. No bending over. ;D

Had the Subaru's windshield replaced on Friday, it cracked last Thursday during the heat wave.  I reminded my wife to crack the window a bit because she leaves her car parked in the sun all day, but I'm guessing she forgot.  Must have had a little pre-existing chip somewhere.  Insurance deductible of $250, ouch.

It's been really busy around here, so I haven't had much time to post. So I am just gunna dump some photos from some of the car stuff that I've been up to recently.

Put a about 2000kms on the T/A in the last month or so, and the MGB has been up and running well also...Weekend driveway:


Installed a car seat in the Escalade - guess that means we're ready.


Put 450kms on the SLK; that's double what I did all year last year with it. Everytime I think I am done with this car it seems to remind me how lovely it is to just drive...


And last weekend I pulled this out for a spin; fired right up after sitting for about 10 months and runs great. Wish I had more time for it, but I think this will be another year of sitting in the garage for it.

I actually saw an orange MGB a couple of weeks ago parked in someone's yard not far from where I live.  Didn't get a good look at it though and haven't seen it since.  Yours looks fantastic in that orange!  :drool:

Hit the 100,000 km milestone (is that an oxymoron?) with the Sonic yesterday.  Should probably do something about the noisy struts...but why...they only bang over sharp road imperfections.

Just as bad imo.
The Prius was white , it was a lot easier to keep clean compared to the Black BMW

Beam lenses polished after being converted to HID
in/out wash!
Ready to burn some gas, after EV range depleted for sure  ;D
