Installed a Superchips F5 Flashpaq into the JK. Mainly got it for the speedometer calibration capability as the tires on it are 2" bigger. The fact that the throttle pedal response is improved and it gives more power, I haven't really felt anything put the more responsive pedal is fantastic. Will update in a week or so with mileage and thoughts.

I have a Superchips Dashpaq (similar deal, but with a dashmounted screen) installed in the JK I built for work. On that truck (an Automatic running 33's) the difference was night and day. As you noted, much better throttle response, more top end (although it's still a dog), and saved a least 1L/100km. Plus I was able to program out the pesky TPMS light.

Drove the SLK to work today.....only the second time I've driven it this year, and the first time I've actually driven it to work in like 3 years. Car feels good; and I am looking forward to getting the top down on the way home....At least for the 15-20 minutes to the highway..

I knew that power gains were going to be negligible but I always hated the slow response of the throttle.

Bought it at Crappy Tire.  $54 IIRC includes 2 cans of R134a refrigerant.  Integral gauge to prevent overcharging. http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/red-tek-a-c-refrigerant-recharge-kit-0146129p.html
They have them for your home too.

How often do you guys need to recharge the air con ?

What's perhaps a bit odd is that I never saw the need to recharge it on either of the 10+ year old BMWs I had- they ran plenty cold and I usually left it at 23,5° in the summer too  ??? Is there that big of a loss in cooling ability ?

11 year old Audi A4.  This was probably the only time it's ever been topped off so I don't know ??

It's clean!  I finally washed off the bug guts from last week's road trip.  Sonata is nine years-old and has less than 86,000 kms on it.

Highlanders never been topped off from what I can ascertain from the service records. Corolla I know for sure hasn’t. Both have AC that can cause hypothermia in minutes.

R134 is a small molecule and can creep by seals, but if it’s low I’d look for an issue just in case.

My daughter stuck a Hello Kitty in the window of my Pilot....one of those plush toys with a suction cup.  In the window where the 3rd row is.  That's right, kick me when I'm down

My sister had a HK plate frame on her Santa Fe.  I told her that I don’t care if my neices cry, don’t you dare put that thing on your Wrangler Unlimited.

Well its been a week. Still loving the crisp throttle response, the better pickup and the mileage has increased about 1.5-2L/100km/h. All in all, great buy and I would highly recommend it to anyone with a JK.

People don't realize how great a throttle controller (or similar mod) can be to crisp things up. It doesn't make the car faster but increases driveability.

I love them.

I looked at a stand alone throttle controller and this was just a bit more expensive and could also a hell of a lot more functions

If mileage has improved, why the heck wouldn't FCA just program the pedal like that right from the get-go?  There has to be some sort of disadvantage...better acceleration, AND better fuel mileage?  What's the catch?

They say they programmed the pedal to be lazy in order to make offroad precision driving easier....which is utter BS as the throttle cable I had in my Cherokee was a much better design as I knew exactly what to expect from every angle of throttle angle. Like I said, I don't think its faster, just the pickup and response is better because the throttle pedal doesn't send messages to the throttle body VIA 56k modem anymore.

Yep. I'm loving the changes I made to mine.  The "dynamic" steering is nice, but the throttle mod was the real improvement.  It's so nice to know exactly how much power you're going to get based on how much throttle you're applying.
