Had the oil changed on the Olds Wednesday. Later that day I ended up in hospital so my mechanic delivered it to my driveway Thursday in case my neighbour needed to drive it to help us out while I was out of commission..
Maybe time to get the wife/ kids their driving licenses

No interest from any of them plus even if they don't drive insurance will assign a vehicle to the one who gets a license and skyrocket my rates. My wife used to go on the road with me and after seeing how most Ontarians "drive" wants no part of it.  :rofl2: Ironically I think she'd be a great driver. She has more common sense than most people out there and even as a non driver knows more about driving than almost all of them.  ;D But she says a very forceful 'NO!" to the idea. She also went through a period when her Mother tried to force her to get her license so that only dug her resolve not to even deeper.
I feel like not getting your license and learning to drive is, in a family context in pretty much any city in Canada, actually really selfish.

Sure some people can't or shouldn't. But 99%+ of people can.

My daughter is 37 and does not have a license but she has lived in Toronto for the last 19 years and doesn't need a license to get around
But when you live in the middle of nowhere and need other people to drive you around , I agree with mmret

It's a choice. No one should be forced to do something they don't want to or feel comfortable doing. I suspect a LOT of the idiots out there on the roads are there because they were pressured to get a license when they weren't comfortable or competent behind the wheel. I've heard many people say how much they hate driving and can't see people like that caring enough to do it well or safely. There is no way I am going to cause another one of them to exist. There are enough of them already out there endangering the rest of us and themselves.

Agreed, it's a choice......plain and simple.  No argument can be made, IMO.

Finally got one of my tires replaced with costco tire warranty.

It covered 75% of replacement cost.

Out of my pocket $37.

Replacement for my ecopia 422 was the newer version ecopia 422 Plus.

Of course they put it on the rear so soon as i got home i put that on the front.

Tire looks similar but is different enough in tread design. Happy so far.

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

One tire with a different tread would bug the heck out me...

Yesterday I swapped the tires on the 96 Firebird back to the summers, and lubed all the grease points on the chassis while I was at it. Today I spent the morning washing a bunch of the cars; both Firebirds and the Escalade. Feels good.

If the weather holds next weeks I'll pull the SS out and bring it home :)

Garage probably. I usually keep the red Firebird in there on the right side, but it's no stranger to the outdoors (I just started parking it inside in the Fall), so I'll move it back outside for now. The driveway gets pretty cluttered though; I'll have both Firebirds, the 'Slade and w/e press car I happen to have out there. That starts to make life more difficult than it needs to be....

Van is in the shop today. My own fault really. Recently, especially when cold, the passenger door hasn't been shutting on the first try. Probably just the latch needs a clean and some graphite grease.

Yesterday, when we went to go out, MiLady noticed the door wasn't quite closed from the day before so stupidlike I forced it shut with my shoulder as I figured it just hadn't latched. OOPS! I suspect the latch did the flip thing and now the door won't open and the door button is at the halfway point.

I don't have the tools and right now even if I did am, barely mobile staminawise so off it went to get done properly.

Never heard of that sealant before.  Then again.  My rims stay pretty clean.

LOL. I'd break-even :P
It is the car I *should* let go....but everytime I drive or work on it I am reminded how much I like it. Just bought two new speakers to replaced the dry-rotted factory dash units.

I watched one of those car fix TV shows on the weekend.  And they had a 90s Trans AM GTA that was restored.  It was (to that point) impeccably done.

Did you see that episode?
