Got up to -2 today, warmest it's been in recent memory at least. It felt good to be able to get outside in the sun, so I spent a few hours puttering around in the driveway.
Firstly, I had the last few Firebird oil changes done at Mr.Lube...I hate messy oil changes in the cold. The clowns in there always top up the washer fluid with whatever it is they have in their hose contraption - fine by me, free washer fluid. Well, apparently whatever they've been using is not very well rated for cold because the reservoir froze nearly solid this week. I warmed it up, siphoned some out and filled with some -45 stuff.
Jacked up the Trans Am and inspected the rear brakes because I don't seem to be getting much (if any) action back there. Inspection confirmed that the calipers are sorta seized up and need to be rebuilt - so I ordered some kits. I started it up, drove around a bit trying to get a feel for it as i haven't really driven it at all. Then I fixed a sticky hood release and put on new lift supports for the hood:
Last I took the Spitfire for a quick spin and spun it around in the garage so I can get better access to the driver's side to re-install some interior bits. It hadn't seen sun in months....
