I'm thinking of painting my winter wheels with black plasti-dip. Tacky? How long would it last over a Southern Ontario winter?

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

Can't complain really. Set was a couple years old too, but it was good I could dig up the receipt.

I am going to plasti-dip my winters next summer.  That looks pretty good.

PJungnitsch, what are the seat heater's like?  Do they go under the seat covers?  How are they connected to power?

These ones:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/content/canadian-tire/en/pdp/automotive/interior-auto-accessories/seat-cushions/heatech-heating-cushion-0323511p.html#.VG0pGyg031E

I've had a few different types, and these seem unusually good with a much better than average hold down system, a hi/low/off switch, and no massaging bits of plastic to dig into the back.

Ran a splitter from the cigarette lighter to power them. So far seems to have the capacity.

I have fit similar ones under seat covers, but in my experience that cuts the heat too much.

Getting ready to sell the 3, and it needed to have the provincial inspection done and a check engine light looked at. Just needed a bulb for the inspection, but the CEL was diagnosed to be a bad ECM (computer). New price from Mazda: $2200! Luckily, the dealer was able to source a used one for $251. Not too bad.

Then this evening, I installed the winter wheels and tires on the Mini. Rides much better on the 16s versus the stock 17s. And unlike many on this forum I actually like the look of it on black steelies:

Installed a new battery in the Forester. Bought one from Costco. Nine and a half good years from the previous one, got my money's worth.

I get a build up of corrosion on our 98 Forester which leads to loss of cranking amps upon start up. Recently encountered this again. Did a battery test and a alternator (alternator and battery 2 years old). I'm not keen on the battery connectors and thought of replacing them. The 98 Forester battery connectors have have little contact area to the battery terminals with added corrosion the contact diminishes. I cleaned them with a wire brush and post spray. Placed some conductive grease (with graphite) and tighten them back up. Hoping for the best.
