halfway to work the low tire indicator came on.  strange...

hopefully I don't have a leak.   I did have my mountain bike in the bike and a floor pump, so I actually pulled over and added some air.   Using a floor pump is a bit of a work out.

I like cool weather with top rolled back and heat on too.
The grille comes in a couple of different colours: matte black, gloss black, chrome.
I better much like the flat   :D  I don't like bling-bling  ???  Installation was easy, take off the front grille, place the insert in behind, attach with three screws, re-attach front grille. Instructions are ok, you need to remove the 7 or so speed-push-clips on the top of the grille, remove the turning indicator connectors (pull the red locking mechanism first, then push the black tab and pull the connector off), and then gently pull the bottom of the grill away from the frame. Install in reverse order.

In 10 months of driving my Smart ED, the only maintenance has been to periodically plugged it in, and much less often, wash it.

Washed it today, very easy to do by hand, such a small surface area!   ;D

I plugged in late last night, as there was a massive amount of wind power in Ontario, over 2GW, and the gas generators were only putting out 100MW, so the CO2/kWh of electricity production was 8g!

Since all the service centers are closed here for a local holiday. I gave my car a great body wash by myself.

Had driving lights installed on the truck.  The OEMs on an F-150 are complete garbage!   Good reason to include a night-time test drive when shopping for vehicles.

Uh oh!  Looks like the secondary air injector pump on the 911 needs replacing!  It's used to heat the cats on start up.  It's whining.  Replacement cost is a staggering $1700 from Porsche!  http://www.autoatlanta.com/results.php?partnumber2=996%20605%20103%2001&page=1

Or you can buy a Bosch branded part (which they sell to Porsche) for about $250.  Hmmmm..wonder which one I'll choose??  Or you can take the unit apart, regrease it..and maybe change the bearings..  Hmmmmm
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Ha, I found the same thing last year.  BMW sparkplugs for my car were something silly like $29/plug.  Bavarian Autosport has the Bosch plugs -- identical in every respect EXCEPT for missing the little BMW logo -- for 1/3 the cost.

Good Weekend.

Got some stuff done on the Spitfire; new antenna, almost finished the body work, finally got a big stain out of the driver's seat and polished valences.

Got the SLK out for the first time in weeks and took a couple proper photos:

Lastly....Used the Sonoma to propose to my girlfriend of 8-years. We met in highschool and spent most of our free time for the first couple year of our relationship driving around in this truck....So it seemed fitting to propose back at our old school and with our old truck. Some friends filmed and shot photos of the whole thing, but this is the only one I have so far:

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Oh, I forgot to say that I replaced the oil pressure switch on my FIL Chevrolet Uplander.......car has about 180k KM on it and it needs a ton of work. Too bad that the inlaws live in Brandon, I can do the work for parts + beer, there they go to the dealer which as we all know is a very rectally intrusive experience. The a$$sholes wanted $1600 to fix his sliding doors.....I did it for about $50 in parts, now they are wanting over $800 to do the starter, new starter is ~$200 and literally about 10-15min of work on a set of car ramps, feckin crooks. I couldn't imagine not knowing how to wrench on a car and having to take it to a dealer...... :fall: Just the labor costs...ouch.

Pretty similar for me.  First date with my wife October 2007.  Proposed around 1 year later.  Lived together for 1 year.  Married September 2009.  Daughter born 2 years later in September 2011, son born 2.5 years later in April 2014.  And I turn 34 next month.

Congrats Firm!

The divorce rate is so high these days, I would prefer to see people take all the time they need before they make that life long commitment.

...says the guy who got married to his wife just 6 months after they met. lol. Just celebrated our 6th year anniversary. :)

The a$$sholes wanted $1600 to fix his sliding doors.....I did it for about $50 in parts

Ouch! I think that's true with a lot of dealers though. There were a lot of little fixes I did on the Sienna -- sliding door handle, liftgate handle -- paid $35 each the dealer may have charged $200-300 each easily. The sliding door handle was even painted. A low grade paint sure but it was fine on a 15 year old van and it looked good at least, not black and sticking out like a sore thumb. I replaced the power window motor and regulator for $70 parts and an hour and a bit of fairly easy labour. Easily a $500 job at the dealer there.
