Not my car but I'll end up working on it. My middle son bought a 1989 Toyota Tercel three door hatchback. Very basic car with a four speed manual and a carb. Power nothing. He got it for a steal given that it has no rust and only 141k kms on it. Faking paint off the wheels is probably the worst part. Came from Vancouver Island a few years back and he is the third owner.

Very nice! Great little car, those were a lot of fun to toss around. Paint those wheels, maybe pull that front left fender out a bit and it'll look like new!

Plenty easy to find parts on Rockauto. We are going to do the shocks and timing belt. Maybe brakes if it needs them.

Looks great! Usually these poverty spec econo cars were driven to hell and back. This one seems like it was well taken care of.

Nice - and rare - survivor! Tercels were such in high regard in QC that the stylish coupe version of that generation was actually a "statement" vehicle.

I still see quite a bit of last-gen Tercels around here. If you keep rust away, they'll never die.
