On Tirerack, the CC2 is rated a tad higher than AS+3 on wet road condition (hydroplaning & traction), otherwise pretty much neck to neck exception taken on treadwear advantage to the AS+3 @ 740AA vs 640BA. I guess the CC2 less conventional pattern help to drain out water better.

I'm getting close to call the CC2 a winner since it seem they are available locally in my size.

The CC2 is an all weather tire no?  Given you have dedicated winters, I'd be inclined not to choose an all weather tire.  There's got to be some compromise using an all weather versus an all season one would think, such as noise, wear, dry grip, etc.  I could be wrong.  I guess the all weathers would be good in the shoulder season.

The downside is the wear rate but otherwise they are good. I have chosen conventional designs my last two sets (Pirelli AS 3+ for the Volvo and the Goodyear Steadfast HT for the Ridgeline) as both cars use dedicated snows and they both see gravel/rough roads which seem to chunk up an all weather compound.

Here is a vid comparing some  the all-weather V tread tires (as I call them)

He's running winters though. If I lived down in the Ontario banana belt I think I would go all weather and not bother with winters.

Most review looks ok but I'm still undecided, the problem is you can't try them before you buy, you have to select your tires based on someone else opinion!

I guess i would like/prefer "summer" tires with overall good balance between wet grip/aquaplanning, comfort, handling, noise & treadwear, efficiency (low rolling resistance)...

Yeah, I know  :shuffle:  still looking.

Just got to take the plunge! I got my Goodyear Steadfast HTs put on the Ridgeline today. No complaints other than the air pressure they put in. 37 psi! They need to read the door jam; 32 psi.  ::)

I think shops er on the side of lots since they anticipate no one will check the pressures.. Anyhow night and day when it comes to ride at 32 vs 37.

I check the air pressure on rental cars.  More often than not, the pressure is set to the max listed on the sidewall.  Not a good idea when the temp is 105F or higher.

Check/reset tire pressure and re-torque the wheels is SOP after any visit to a shop.

Throw away the all weather options since you have dedicated winters.

Browsing through the CR ratings it looks like the Bridgestone Weatherpeaks and the Firestone Weather Grips do have some issues, but the CC2's score well in everything and are their top rated all season tire. Just pricey

Only beaten in some categories by what they call 'ultra high performance' all seasons like the Pilot Sport All Season 4

I haven't noticed any drawbacks compared to regular all seasons, other then you can only rotate front to back. And that tread pattern is pretty distinctive
